STOCKING UP. At Angelo's we make our own stocks, soups, dressings, sauces, meatballs, lasagna, specialty pastas and so much more. While the name "scratch kitchen" has become popular we have been making most of our dishes "to order" from "scratch" for decades. It is tedious to do so, labor intensive, a little more expensive but so worth it for the resulting flavors.

Apparently, we sold out of pasta fagiole before noon with people making large take out orders....This Friday will we double up on production, but thanks for the overwhelming response.

In the seventies and eighties Angelo's was known for our Friday lunch special Pasta Fagiole. In those days, Washington Steel, Jessop Steel, Moly corp, Drakenfield, Brockway and all business in Millcraft had regulars who came for this classic and basic dish of just pasta and beans. We have not made it for a long time and I recently purchased Roma beans to make it again. There are variations to be sure but we stuck to the classic recipe of just pasta and beans with no frills. We are going to run it for the next several weeks for Friday lunch for 10.00. With this dish and a couple big ol hunks of hard crusted rustic Italian bread, you can get through the afternoon with this hearty comfort dish.
