FLASHBACK FRIDAY! How do they get so fit? Switching gears a tad, Angie's Way focuses on achieving a healthy body from the inside out, through adopting a better lifestyle. Whereas the other avenue, (past avenue before AW took off) Angie's Angels , focused on taking it to the next level. ... How do they get so lean and look so fit? This is a question I receive often in reference to the ladies who contest prep (bikini and figure competitions). I'm going to explain this from my personal experience as a successful competitor, and based on my knowledge and coaching. First thing you must understand; These ladies are DIETING. They are not simply eating clean. And this is their life. Whether they do one show or years of shows, for that time period, their life revolves around dieting/prepping for a show. Their diets are strict. When they go to a picnic or a restaurant, they don't make a healthy choice. They pull out their Tupperware of prepped food. Or they plan to meet at a time that won't affect their next meal. When they have a busy day at work, they might have to sneak into the bathroom to scarf down their timed meal. When they have a date, it must be on a Saturday and the meal must coincide with what the coach recommends to eat. When their plan says 10 raw almonds and they ate 15, they've cheated. And don't even think about asking for a sip of their water; every ounce is accurately measured. Did a smidge of yolk get into the scrambled egg whites? Toss em or ever so precisely scoop out the yellow. Rice cakes with peanut butter are a dream food. To sum it up, they diet. And they diet hard and consistently. Some ladies diet year after year. Although it's admirable to be so disciplined, you can achieve your own transformation without going to such extremes. It's relative to your goals and the lifestyle you prefer. Regardless of how you approach your goals, make sure you control it. I realize it's tough to fit in work, errands, household chores, taking care of the family, and now throw in meal prep!!! But that's even more of a reason to prep in advance! Taking an hour or two out of your day to prepare some meals will allow for more time during the week to tend to your other obligations. And most importantly, it will keep you on track and less likely to grab convenience foods. When you prep your own foods, you can pay closer attention to sodium conte...nt and ingredients. Both of which will determine body and health goals. You absolutely cannot out-exercise a poor diet. Nor can you heal/fuel the inside with just exercise. You need the proper nutrients. Nutrients from FOOD. PREP PREP PREP!! There’s no easy way to sustainable results and everlasting success with any goal.

Feeling the need to "cleanse?" Or being persuaded to "detox" by a health "expert with the purchase of a pricy concoction? STOP: It is wise to avoid the colon cleanses and detoxes sold by companies suggesting it is a natural product for restarting your metabolism" or "jump starting" things... Anyone who is genuinely interested in your health, and not just your outside body would not recommend to cleanse with over-priced products. And would know how this can be done by mo...stly certain foods alone. Cleanse Kits focus attention on irrelevant issues, and gives consumers the impression that they can undo lifestyle decisions with quick fixes. Improved health isn’t found in an expensive box of powders/concoctions. (Synthetic nonetheless). Think about it: gurus are suggesting you put a factory made product into your body to rid the body of waste. This is quite contradictory (even regardless of the products "natural" claims). [For someone who has not abused their body with toxic drugs], your body is cleansing every day. easy and truly clean! Great for kids too, as they should NOT have protein powders,but protein from FOOD. FRUITY EGG MUFFINS Using only three ingredients these muffins are so quick and easy to make.... Serves: 10 INGREDIENTS 2 ripe bananas 4 eggs Coconut oil / butter to grease the muffin pan Fruit of choice (e.g. raspberries or blueberries) INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 375 Mash the bananas until smooth. Add the eggs and mix until combined. Grease the muffin tray with coconut oil Add some berries to cover the bottom of the muffin trays. (about 7 raspberries to each tray or around 10 blueberries) Fill with the egg and banana mixture (makes around 10) Bake for 12 minutes or until cooked through.
