Anna's Place, Chester, PA

Anna’s Place will dedicate a room to our friend George Convery, who went home to God on January 19, 2020. We have been blessed to know George and his wife Joan who lived lives which reflected their Franciscan spirituality and awareness of those in need. We are blessed by their witness and goodness and will continue to lovingly remember their impact on so many...including all of us at Anna’s Place.

Villanova Day of service was a great success and our group of volunteers were beyond wonderful! Beautiful spirit among these terrific kids!

So many blessings at Anna’s Place this week-Sisters of St. Francis at Assisi House preparing care packages, Ethel Lanier donation in honor of her son Howard (thanks to Ed Larkin for helping), Sr. Christopher Wagner OSF making wash clothes for our guests and our faithful friend Mike McCarthy helping to make Thursday lunch. God has certainly blessed us with great companions on the journey!

Today was another one of those fabulous days at Anna's Place with visits from Gerry Feehery, Ed Burke and Becca Ball. We are beyond grateful to our friends at St John's and those who continue to care for our sisters and brothers at Anna's Place.

Special thanks to Maria Koleda of SHARE Food Program and Kris Clark of Kimberly-Clark Chester Facility who worked together to provide our dear guests with much needed and greatly appreciated supplies!

Our guests are so excited to have delicious homemade treats lovingly baked by Sheila Coyne-such a blessing and so appreciated!

We continue to be overwhelmed by our friends at Creative Financial who bless us in so many ways! Today Tara Scibello-Rickards and Alaina arrived today with gifts from all the employees at Creative Financial who care so deeply for the people of Chester!

Great week at Anna's Place thanks to all those who continue to care for the people of Chester-all of us are so grateful!

What a great day! So grateful to Fred Reiche and Jason Sofronski from Healthcare Services Group who worked with our friend Mike McCarthy to prepare a delicious lunch served by this trio-Sr. Antoinette, Sr. Cathy and Amyah!

Special thanks to Mrs. Ethel Lanier who blessed us with a wonderful donation of soup from Swiss Farms...Mrs. Lanier's goodness is a beautiful tribute to her dear son, Howard. Once again, a terrific unique donation of plants from Miller's Greennhouse in Wallingford. Our guests can start their own gardens, if they like!

So grateful to my nephew Ryan for helping with the garden at Anna’s Place-so proud of him!

God continues to provide-just when the shelves are bare there is a knock on the door... Ann and Ed with a donation from Saint Mary Magdalen Community AND Amazon donation from Brad and Barb Kiel AND or faithful friend Barb Rosini arrived with some of our guests favorites AND Carol Smythe Dunleavy and Andrew with a generous collection. We are so grateful! P.S wearing Vincent the Conqueror Mask-prayers continue for our little hero and his family.

Max Burman's Bar Mitzvah service included his parents-Steve and Heidi Burman, his brother Jake and his grandfather Dan Potteiger. Steve set up the defibrillator (Thanks Feehery and Arizin families), put together five raised beds and began planting, with the help of Sister Libby. What a great experience for all of us-we have loved watching Max grow up!

Gotta say Kyle was our cutest guest last week! Thanks to everyone who donated baby food and formula...especially one of our favorite little guys-Lochlann James Malloy Michael Malloy Rosemary Malloy
