Recently, I was "gifted" ( for lack of a better word) with a clock that was heavily damaged in shipment. This clock, an New Haven Umbria Cabinet clock had incurred heavy damage to the case as well as damage to the movement and some of the metal trims on the case as well! The client who provided me with the clock called it a "basket case" as they described its condition to me, in a phone conversation! Not bragging folks but it takes more than those words to "spook" me away fro...m tackling a restoration project, for restoration work, is my trade. I am posting before and after photos of the "Basket Case" - A majestic looking New Haven Umbria Cabinet Clock. The cost of the restoration work was for me a labor of love! The first photo is of the clock prior to the damage, then some photos of some of the damage(case had cracks) and last two photos show it after I completed the restoration!
