BE AWARE IF YOU DID NOT GET YOUR STIMULUS PAYMENT - ISSUES BEING REPORTED TO IRS AND CONGRESSMAN KELLER'S OFFICE FNN Article Update Monday, January 4, 2021. (...See update listed at bottom of article). TIOGA COUNTY, PA - A local resident who wishes to remain anonymous went online to the IRS site to check on the status of their stimulus payment check. The site reported that the refund was issued, however, a different bank account was listed on the site, that did not belong to the individual. Oddly enough the bank account for first stimulus payment was correct, but it seems somehow someone managed to change the individual's bank account information for this stimulus payment. Unless this is an error caused by the IRS, it does leave a person feeling uneasy and nervous as something is clearly wrong. The local resident placed a call to the IRS and was on the phone for hours trying to get a hold of someone to talk to about this concerning issue. When they got through they were put on hold for 50 minutes. Then a woman answered and she was updated on the issue. The woman who answered stated that the IRS did not know what was going on, but that other recipients were reporting the same issue. With that said the woman transferred the local resident to another office, however, the call could not be completed and the phone call was ended. Next the local resident then contacted Congressman Keller's office, where it was learned that they were the third person who reported this issue with the stimulus payment. The secretary told the local resident that she would reach out to her IRS liaison and will hopefully find out what is going on. It was noted that this could take some time and Keller's office would get back in touch with the Tioga County, Pa., resident. If you did not get your stimulus check, you should check your payment status at the following link; https://www.irs.gov/ If by chance your bank account number has been changed you are urged to report it the IRS and to Congressman Fred Keller office. UPDATE: Many residents are learning that if they did their taxes through H&R Block last year that their stimulus check went to an H&R Block account and the stimulus payment will be forwarded to their account on a different date (you may wait up to 5 additional days). Other residents are reporting they did not go through H&R Block and still their payment went to another account. Another issue that has arisen is some residents have received a notice that their payment #2 status is not available. Once again another IRS mess at getting stimulus payments out promptly to residents.
