This week, Gerald Wydro, MD, Chair, Emergency Medicine and President, Medical Staff, Jefferson Health Northeast, was joined by members of the Medical Office team to deliver holiday cookies to staff as a gesture of gratitude for their hard work in helping keep our community healthy and safe. During an extraordinary year, our clinical frontline staff has shown a heroic dedication to our patients, and Dr. Wydro wanted to make sure they know how appreciated they truly are.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, one of our patients at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center Jefferson Health is thankful for the successful completion of his cancer treatment at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. Rocco Mariano of Northeast Philadelphia a patient of Avnish Bhatia, MD, Director, Medical Oncology, and Scot Fisher, DO Clinical Professor, Radiation Oncology and Radiosurgery was diagnosed this year with tonsillar cancer. This week, Rocco completed chemothera...py and radiation therapy. As many of our patients do, he tearfully and joyfully rang the bell at our Cancer Center to celebrate this victory in his cancer journey. The bell has become a positive symbol for patients who face their cancer diagnosis with a fearless attitude and achieve a significant milestone in their treatment.
