Paving with asphalt over concrete poses many challenges. Amongst them is how to prevent cracks and joints from reflecting through the new pavement. APCON is taking a multi-step approach on this large commercial project. Step 1: Thorough cleaning and preparation. Step2: Apply hot mastic over cracks and wide joints. Step3: Application of asphalt-impregnated fabric over expansion and control joints. These steps are followed by a heavy tack coat to insure adhesion. Next a variabl...e -depth asphalt leveling/scratch course is laid with a paver. Finally a 2inch thick asphalt wearing course is laid and all joints are sealed. There’s no other base better than concrete, provided the proper steps are taken to prepare the area. With an intense winter storm expected to bring heavy snow, high winds, sleet and freezing rain across the state through this weekend, Governor Tom Wolf today ...signed a state of emergency declaration to allow for increased assistance with storm-related needs. APCONCRETE! Drive -by video of a recently completed project. Specific work included 1300 linear feet of curb, 5300 Square feet of flat work, 3 retaining walls and road/driveway restoration and lawn grading. All work was done during restricted hours on a busy State roadway. Kudos to Rocky Dudek and his gang for another job well done

Earlier this week APCON crews teamed up to perform a time-sensitive Milling & Paving Project. We allocated 2 days for the job and actually got it done in 1 day! Hats off to all of our guys who worked together to get this industrial job done. We left one very impressed and happy customer!

It's always nice to end the work week on a high note. Today we received an email and a voicemail from 2 different customers complimenting our crews on the quality of their work and the level of professionalism they displayed. One project was a large milling and paving job at a busy urban shopping center that has tenants with very specific needs ( a kidney dialysis unit and a senior center, as well as restaurants and other busy tenants). The owner called me personally and cou...ldn't send enough praise our way. The second project was a concrete curbing and asphalt job at a local college. The work was done flawlessly and was completed ahead of schedule. It's nice to hear compliments at the office end of our business but it's more important to let the guys in the field know that their efforts don't go by unnoticed. Farewell breakfast today for Bill Sparango. Bill spent 31 years here and helped take our company from nothing to what it is today. Much to the chagrin of the residents of this apartment complex APCON crews are on site to demolish the swimming pool during a heat wave. Most times people praise our work and sometimes we are the bad guys. Either way we perform our tasks safely and efficiently

Apcon crews recently teamed up to complete a large municipal job in record time. The project involved milling of over 36000 square yards of roadway and placement of over 3000 tons of hot mix asphalt. All of this work was done in 4 days and looks beautiful! It's nice when residents stop to thank us for a job well done and appreciate the effort our teams put forth to see this project to a quick and sucessful completion. Nice work guys!
