Here are three Dynamic Mobility Warm Up Stretches for loosening up your hips. . If you are like Coach Jeff, then you have tight hips. These are great stretches to help loosen you up. Coach uses a 10 lb plate to raise his heals to get deeper into the stretch. . Squat to Stand - Grab your toes and squat down then stand up as you continue to grab your toes. You will feel this in your hips and hamstrings. To get deeper into the squat, elevate your heals like coach is doin...g in the video . Lateral Lunge with an Overhead Reach - This exercises will loosen up your adductors (groins) and hamstrings. You will be able to get lower into the movement if you use something to elevate your inside heal, like in the video. . Spider-man - This stretch lengthens multiple muscle groups and also stretches the groin. In pushup position, step forward with leg outside of hand. Drive your hips forward and hold for two seconds. Try and keep your back leg straight. Then move to the other side. . When it comes to health and fitness, the Winter can be rough. It’s the time of year where workouts are easier to skip. Snooze buttons are easier to hit. The clothes that fit back in July, don’t fit anymore.... The late-night-snack-cravings start taking steroids. Stress-eating spikes. And I’ll restart on Monday becomes the mantra every Thursday night. Now, to be clear - there’s no shame in any of this ...there’s definitely no need to beat yourself up for it either. We all have areas in our life we’re trying to clean up and regain control of. For us at A2, it’s caffeine and organization So, give yourself a lil’ grace. Just make sure your ‘grace’ isn’t disguised as procrastination and apathy; keeping you stuck in a vicious cycle that pushes you further away from being the strong, fit, and confident person you want to be again. With that said: Regardless of the state your health is in as you read this post...regardless of how far you have fallen off -- It’s ok. It’s just your starting line at the moment. All that matters now is what you choose to DO about it. Are you going to take the first step and start the race? Or, are you going to pace back and forth waiting to start on Monday ?
