Please be aware of a few changes in our daily routines in light of Governor Wolf's recent orders: we will continue to operate (and yes, we are on the attached list as an essential business and will continue to serve our customers.) Our lobby will be closed but we will continue with work as scheduled. This means no entry to the inside premises will be permitted. Our staff will communicate with customers strictly by phone, vehicles and key drop off procedures will be explained ...to customers and our staff will act diligently to minimize contact and continue to carry out sanitary measures. We are implementing new procedures for deliveries and outgoing vehicles as well. Please be patient with us as we schedule based on priority. No non-essential jobs will be scheduled at this time. We assure you that we are taking this very seriously and are proceeding with great caution while also providing necessary services to our community. These are trying times but we believe that a community is as strong as its members and we will get through this as such. Please note: all PA inspections due to expire March 31, 2020 have been granted an extension date of April 30, 2020. We will schedule accordingly. https://local21news.com//gov-wolf-orders-all-non-life-sust

Good news for turnpike truckers and travelers!! In order to address safety concerns raised, PennDOT has identified 13 of its 30 rest areas most used by trucker...s that will be reopened tomorrow (Thursday) at these locations: I-81: Luzerne northbound/southbound, Cumberland northbound/southbound; I-80, Venango eastbound/westbound, Centre eastbound/westbound, Montour eastbound/westbound I-79: Crawford northbound/southbound, Allegheny northbound only Barricades will be removed on some facilities in critical locations and available for truck parking. Portable restroom facilities will be available at these locations; each location will have five portable toilets (one of which is ADA-accessible) that will be cleaned once a day. Electronic message signs will be used near the applicable centers to notify drivers near the opened areas. In order to prevent further spread of COVID-19, PennDOT will NOT be opening any of the indoor facilities because there is no staff to keep them clean and properly sanitized. PennDOT will continue to evaluate and will determine whether additional rest areas can be reopened. Also, the PA Turnpike is making these changes to travel plaza restrictions. They apply to all plazas and will be implemented by this coming Saturday at the latest: Indoor bathrooms will be open 24/7. One restaurant at each location will be open 7am to 6pm and will serve a limited take-out menu. All tables and chairs will be removed from the inside of the plaza. The convenience store will be open 24/7.
