NATIONAL PIT BULL AWARENESS DAY - OCTOBER 26 National Pit Bull Awareness Day is a day of appreciation and education designed to change perceptions and stereotypes about bully breed dogs, commonly referred to as "pit bulls," and their responsible owners. The ultimate goal is to get the truth out about pit bulls, and ultimately lower the number that end up in shelters around the country.

Up until now, whenever we held agility classes or runs, they've been inside. Now we can take dogs outside to work with brand new regulation equipment! Anyone is invited to participate as your dog is not reactive towards other dogs. All participants please call Awesome Dawgs to register, 610-750-6868. The runs will be limited to one dog at a time. Admission is free, but you will be asked to sign a group waiver upon arrival. Spectators are welcome outside the yard.

AWESOME TRAINING - THERAPY DOG PREPARATION Our Therapy Dog Preparation class helps people and their dogs prepare for Therapy Evaluation. This session - Beau, Twinkle, Darcy, Ellie, and Harper - have studied hard learning the skills necessary for therapy work. Owners and dogs practice: sit, stay, come when called, friendly greetings with volunteers including petting, examination and grooming, wait at the door, heel, maneuvering around people using hospital equipment, leaving food treats alone that are on the floor, dealing with distractions, separation from your dog for a few minutes, and observing children play.
