Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Basketball Moms!

Shout out to all the teams that came and played in the 11th Annual Shootout! We appreciate all the coaches, players, parents and fans that cooperated through what wasn’t an easy process. We can’t thank you enough!, It was great to be able to celebrate the game of basketball, but more importantly a sense of normalcy and 3 days of fun competition! Also a big thank you to the Kingston Recreation Center, their staff who was so helpful and to St Joseph’s Oblate Seminary for use of their gym and letting us run the show there. The Safety of our players, coaches, parents and fans as well as our referees and Back Mountain Shootout Staff are of utmost importance to us, as well as the continued success of our future tournaments. With all of this in mind we are cancelling our 2020 Back Mountain Holiday Shootout scheduled for Dec 26th and 27th. With the continued spread of Covid 19 we are disappointed to share this news. But we also remain hopeful for an end to this pandemic soon and send thoughts and p...rayers to all who have been affected by the virus. Our Spring Back Mountain Shootout is scheduled for Feb 26-28, 2021 and hope to see you then! Good luck to all teams as they approach their basketball season. While we all sit home and do our part to help stop the spread of Covid-19, we thought all of our players, coaches, parents and fans could use some good news!! We are excited to announce the Inaugural ROUTE 81 SHOWDOWN!! Saturday Jan 2, 2021 will feature the winning teams from the Backcourt Hoops Winners Circle Holiday Tournament versus the winning teams from the Back Mountain Holiday Shootout!! Braggin rights between Luzerne and Lackawanna County will be on the line!! Give it a Like!!!

***The 2021 Back Mountain Shootout will feature an overall trophy for the winningest school/ league in the tournament. 2 points will be awarded for each first place finish and 1 point will be awarded for each 2nd place finish. It will be called the Rokita Trophy named after our fiend and former Athletic Director Tom Rokita.
