Baptist Institute of Pittsburgh 09.11.2021

Winter is coming! With it comes an exciting new term at the Baptist Institute. Baptist Theological Frameworks surveys the major theological systems used by different Baptist churches to understand Scripture. Major systems include Dispensationalism, Progressive Covenantalism or New Covenant Theology, and Baptist Covenant Theology. We compare these systems to help students understand the system used in the home church and to better equip students to understand to understand di...ffering beliefs of other Baptists. Baptist Church History II is a continuation of Baptist Church History I taught in the Fall quarter, covering the nineteenth centuries through the present day in America. With this course, students who have taken Baptist Church History I will better understand how Baptist churches, particularly in the United States, came to be where they are today. Remember, 2019-2020 tuition is $50 to take a course on a non-credit (audit) basis and $200 for credit to be transferred to another institution. Don't delay, register today! Classes begin in early December.

Serving as President of the Baptist Institute gives my wife and me incredible opportunities to meet with our partner churches throughout western Pennsylvania. Over the past two months we have been to Gospel Life Church in Evans City, both locations of Three Rivers Grace church, First Hungarian Reformed Church in Homestead, Lower Burrell Baptist Church, and Pittsburgh Baptist Church. Connecting with (mostly) Baptist believers is a privilege and I look forward to visiting many ...more churches in the near future. Talking about the Institute and the seminary-level classes we teach is part of it, but worshiping our Lord with our brothers and sisters is the true privilege. I would like to invite Baptist churches everywhere to check us out at baptistinstitutepgh.org and prayerfully consider asking your church to become a church partner. We ask for small monthly donations of $50 - $100 from many churches rather than large donations from a few. We will gratefully accept whatever the Lord moves you to give. Pastors, let's talk about what the partnership really means as you labor each and every week to build up your churches in love and Christlikeness. Can't wait to visit and look forward to talking with you soon. Brian Hart, President, Baptist Institute of Pittsburgh

Update on Financial Aid and the Baptist Institute: several students and potential students have asked about whether financial aid is available to help with tuition. Here are some answers: 1. Our tuition this year is very low. $200 to take a class for credit and $50 to audit. Our intent is to make Baptist theological education as accessible as possible. 2. We will work out payment plans for students with financial challenges, particularly students taken more than one course fo...r credit in a given quarter. Let us know of the need as early as possible. 3. Talk with your church to see if assistance might be available. You will never know if you don't ask. 4. Students in SBC churches can apply for aid through the Baptist Resource Network, which has limited funds available for education. Contact the Baptist Institute office for additional information! Your tuition dollars cover the cost of instruction alone. Consider talking with your church leaders about joining our Church Partners program. Small amount of support from many churches will help us keep costs and tuition low.
