Happy early Halloween! Our Erie group home residents and staff are starting their Halloween celebration tonight with Trunk or Treat. Program Specialist Katlyn Polumbo is here with all the details.

Our students aren't the only one's decorating for #Halloween... our group homes are getting into the fun too! From decorating the tree, to dressing up and catching ghosts, they're getting into the spirit!

Even our ghosts wear masks! The ELBS halls are getting spookier by the minute thanks to all the artwork created by students. Can you tell they're ready for #Halloween?

Halloween isn't the only thing to celebrate this month! James also celebrated a birthday with a great meal, cake and presents - of course!

Congratulations to Robert Jones - the 2020 Self-Advocate Employee of the Year - and to the U Pick 6 family of restaurants - our 2020 Employer of the Year. Both parties were recognized at a small, socially distanced ceremony last Friday held at U Pick 6 Tap House.

Today, we are live at U Pick 6 Tap House to honor the family of restaurants and a young man in its employ. Bob Barber, chief of staff at the Barber Institute, will be recognizing U Pick 6 and John Melody as Community Employer of the Year, and Robert Jones as Self-Advocate of the Year.

It sounds like rocket science but it’s really new technology that is making our group homes safer! iWave ion air purifies have been installed in our group homes across the state to take pathogens including viruses out of circulation for a healthier environment. It’s just another step to making our homes as safe as possible for residents and staff.

These preschoolers became scientists and took part in a "Pumpkin Investigation!" They used their five senses to examine it, learned new vocabulary words and used their fine motor skills to take out the seeds. They loved this activity while learning valuable skills, collaboration and sharing!
