Rutabaga is on a mission to change how we interact with toys and encourage a more eco-friendly approach to play.... By becoming a Rutabaga member, you get unlimited borrows of up to 4 toys at a time. Members can now select to pick-up toy borrows from Beehive at Bok! Submit your reservation by Thursday evening and pick up that weekend. For now, Beehive’s pickup will be easy and contact free- simply enter from our 9th street entrance and grab your toys from the shelf! (We do have dreams of pickups involving some Beehive fun someday soon!). For now, the first 6 friends who sign up for a Rutabaga membership and choose Beehive as their pick up location will get a free private play session! One of my very favorite parts of running Beehive & being a mama is choosing the toys, books and materials for exploration. At Beehive, we are in the middle of a toy and book overhaul and refresh. There is so much that goes into picking the right stuff. I just love materials that allow for open-ended, imaginative play as well as materials that encourage exploration, problem solving and social-emotional growth. Next week, Beehive will be releasing a free holiday gift guide. The list will be carefully curated for a variety of ages and stages with an emphasis on toys, materials and books that can be found in both local and Black-owned small businesses.
