Happy Valentine's Day Babes In a society that focuses heavily on romantic love, let us not forget that love presents itself in many forms. We can be taught that completeness comes from romantic relationships, but we know that this isn't the case. Love comes from within, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! ... So whether you are celebrating today surrounded by the love of friends, partners, or manifesting some self-love I hope you are fully enjoying and soaking in all the blessings around you. You are truly magical and worthy My braided heart got a little lost while photographing but she still cute #happyvalentinesday #celebratinglovesmanyforms #loveyourself

Christina Mae Jenkins- inventor of the Sew-In Hair Weave There is not much known about this incredible woman, but her biggest achievement known to the world is her revolutionary method of hair weaving. Christina Mae Jenkins was born in Louisiana in 1920. Jenkins graduated from Leland College and married her Husband, Duke, in 1943. In 1949, Ms. Jenkins worked in Chicago for a wig manufacturer. Her primary goal here was to develop a better method for securing wigs. At the time... most people were using pins to secure their hair pieces and wigs (and was often bulky and did not last long). Her experimenting with different methods led to her creation of the "Hair-Weeve". This method involved weaving commercial hair through strands attached to natural hair. Ms. Jenkins patented her design in 1952 and moved to Ohio with her husband to begin teaching her technique to stylists around the country and Europe. She opened Christina's HairWeeve Penthouse Salon in Cleveland where she worked until 1993. Christina Jenkins revolutionary techniques and innovation in the beauty industry has a huge influence on the methods of hair extensions used today. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, a former Ohio Representative, described Ms. Jenkins as a "pioneer in the field of cosmetology" and that she "helped boost the self-esteem of men and women across the world" See more

I realized that posting 6 informative pieces at once is a but much, so in order to give each woman their own light, I'll be posting each day this week. Stay tuned to learn about the original beauty gurus in history!... This list could be endless, and certainly does not stop here. Feel free to add to my list in the comments each day!

My number one goal with blondes (and usually peoples biggest concern) is keeping the hair as healthy as possible! During the chemical process of going lighter, the bond between your hair's pigment and your hair's protein is broken in order to lift out color. This is why it's so important to replace those proteins after lightening to keep hair soft and strong but also to keep your toners lasting longer!... Having that perfect balance of protein and moisture gives color the perfect base to bond to and allows light to reflect, giving you shine for dayyys! If you feel like your blonde is dull or brittle, it's time for a treatment (and maybe a little trim) #allentownhairstylist #allentownsalon #lehighvalleysalon #lehighvalleyhair #allentownpa #lehighvalleypa
