Bellevue Volunteer Fire Company

We finished the year with 406 fire calls and 301 medical calls. We thank you for your continued support and look forward to serving the community in 2021.

Just after 2am Bellevue was dispatched to a vehicle accident on North Balph. Crews arrived to fine a car up on the sidewalk , between the parked cars , fully involved. Members worked to get the fire extinguished and the large tree removed off the cars. Crews remained on scene till the tow company was able to remove the car. This was the first call of 2021.

Just after 9:30 last night crews responded to a bedroom on fire on Rheams Ave. 108 engine arrived on scene and stretched a line to the 2nf floor where they made a quick knock down of the fire with no extension . Thanks to Dave Novak for the pictures. That was the final call for 2020!

At 6:38 this morning, Bellevue was dispatched to a multi-vehicle crash on Rt 65 with one vehicle reported to be into the NAPA auto parts building.

Wendsday night crews trained on the removal of a patient from a rooftop. While this is a low frequency call , we need to make sure we're proficient if called upon.

National Move Over Day is today October 17th 2020. All 50 states have Move Over Laws, but over 70% of drivers say they are not familiar with them! Traffic is ...still the leading hazard to all first responders, and we continue to hear of our responders being struck on a daily basis. So far this year, 38 emergency responders have been struck and killed in the United States even with traffic volumes down significantly since March. This includes two Pennsylvania emergency responders: Paramedic Matt Smelser in Westmoreland County. Tow Operator and Volunteer Firefighter Tyler Laudenslager in Berks County. Do your part, if you see lights, slow down and move over. That simple act can let all of us go home!

Just after 21:00 hrs , crews responded to a 2 vehicle crash on Rt. 65 in front of Bellevue Beer. Crews operated on scene providing traffic control and clean up.
