Today while we had a nice turnout at our Friday morning breakfast at the Golden Corral and Zoom meeting. We also had Dimitri from American Lock Service making keys for members who needed copies. He drives his Mobile shop and just walks out and makes keys for members.

Hi Everyone, Last Friday we did our first lunch at the Golden Corral instead of breakfast on Friday morning. We had a nice turnout and members like the lunch time instead of the early Friday morning breakfast. Tomorrow we will be back to breakfast starting at 8 am. I will be there from 7:30 am and start ZOOM when I get there. The 30 minutes before the meeting is to allow members the chance to get food and set up. Or members to log onto ZOOM and chat before we do the Pledge o...f Allegiance and start the meeting. This is the same pattern we will follow with the lunch next week. We will start lunch next week at 11 am and I will set up at 10:30 am. For everyone who makes the breakfast tomorrow we have door prize of a gift certificate from Golden Corral and from American Lock Service. If you like to give a door prize at our lunch or breakfast let me know. A great way to promote your business and make someone happy they got something extra for coming out. This Friday we are back to breakfast at the Golden Corral. We start at 8 am and end by 9 am. I will be there from 7:30 am to set up get my breakfast and chat with everyone who comes early. The Bucks County District Attorney's Office has recently seen a number of cases of small children ingesting their parent’s marijuana, both legally possessed and... otherwise. In all of the recent cases, the marijuana was edible and packaged to appear like candy. Much of this type of marijuana remains illegal in Pennsylvania. District Attorney Matt Weintraub wants to remind residents that if they have prescription marijuana, they should always keep it locked up and away from children. "Little kids don’t know the difference between regular gummies and marijuana gummies, and children who ingest them can have significant, negative health consequences," he said.

As the Bensalem Business Directory Founder and President I love giving reviews to member of our organization who I have used there services. I just found out Dimitri "Jimmy" the Locksmith has a Faceboook page. I have used his services many times now and I seen he really does not have many reviews on his page. So, I wrote him one and... thought I ask if anyone else has a page I love to know about it. Writing a review for a member on their Facebook page is a great way to help them if you used them in the past and you like what they did for you. Since it is NOT SAFE for us to meet in person for Monthly Meetings, Annual Events or Breakfast on Friday Mornings. I have decided to go out on Friday mornings to visit BBD Members and do Live Zoom meetings. Safety of all involved in the process is paramount. Please be patient with me as this will be done by me alone and whoever I am visiting for the Zoom meeting. No Friday Zoom meeting this Friday everyone.

Today 6:00 am I put up our Bensalem Business Directory Road Sign in front of Philadelphia Christian Center 29990 Street Rd Bensalem PA 19020. With the PennDOT permit on it. Process to getting a permit from PennDOT is a long tedious one. Thank you Lynn Tarnowski and all the amazing people who are at the Philadelphia Christian Center, that is not only a church but also a school and a day care. Without permission from the church the sign would not be allowed to be considered to... be placed on their property. Thank you to JoAnne at PennDOT for her patients dealing with me filing and re-filing forms. I have been working with JoAnne since I think January when I was told our signs needed a special permit from PennDOT. JoAnne is working with me on getting a 3rd sign up on Bristol Pike. So far it has been rejected I think 2 times. But I think we can figure it all out and get that done also. At the end of the day in the dark in 32 degree temperature my wife and son helped me put this sign up. It’s not 100 percent done. Picture must be sent in and PennDOT has to approve what they see and then it is finished. I am writing all this so YOU know even though we do not meet for monthly meeting or Friday Breakfast. I am still working on keeping us visible. Next time you drive on Street Road in Bensalem Pa take notice how many organizations have signs up. Street rd and Bristol pike are both roads only PennDOT approved signs with permits will go up. See more

Today is Election Day. I am here at Salem Harbor to vote. I got here 6:45 am and this year I saw no signs indicating where you need to drive to so you can vote. This is WRONG for a newer voting to not have signs up. This is I believe 3 rd year for the voting to happen here since it moved from holy family across from wood haven mall. I mention this as one of our members ask how it is to vote here. This is almost in Philadelphia and not set up for us. Last time I voted here ...at 7 am they where not ready because they said people here did not let them in at the time agreed. Voting is our right. People who are responsible to handing it should consider the people and the timeline we all are fast with. As a business owner if you hired temps who are only doing work for some extra cash you know the quality of the work you will get from them. I am writing this while I am inline here watching people drive by looking for parking. Watching people stand in the cold wondering why at ten minutes after 7 am the line has not moved. Using this place for voting is not a good idea and I wonder why it was picked and what helped make that happen. See more

Appalachian Trail Port Clinton PA Saturday October 24,2020 11 mile hike to help raise money for local food bank

Good Morning Everyone, Last Friday morning we had Dr Sam Lee the Bensalem School’s Superintendent stop in at the Golden Corral to talk to us about what is going on at the Bensalem Schools. Sam has 7 children that all went to Bensalem High School and has been our Superintendent for the last 5 years. He has been to many of our events and has hosted many of our monthly meetings at the Bensalem High School. In the past couple weeks members had been asking about the schools and ...what is going on. I felt the man who would have all the answers would be Sam and he is always willing to come out to talk to us if he can make the time. He told us November 16th the Bensalem School will be doing partial return to class. If any parent feels that they are not ready to send there child back into the school, they can keep the child home to continue the virtual learning. The school is looking to hire more people if anyone is looking for work or knows of anyone looking. It is important that we as a group continue to help each other and pass along as much information as we can. If you are hiring or need help let us know. I can tell you that H.F. Hornberger Bakery on Galloway is also looking for people to work for them. I think they need a counter person and a helper in the back. The Appalachian Trail Hike was a huge success as 10 people went up and hiked 11 miles. Sam’s Club Langhorne donated to help pay for food for everyone and we had members and nonmembers give also. All money we collected went to BBD member Philadelphia Christian Center to help replenish the Food Bank they run to help our community. If you have something going on and need help to get the word out let us know. If you want to hear from someone let us know and I will see if I can get them to come talk to us. Every Friday morning, we meet up at the Golden Corral 1465 Street Rd Bensalem PA at 7:30 am. For breakfast and Zoom meeting. I apologize that sometimes I am not on time setting up or I am, and I have technical problems and cannot get the Zoom to work by 7:30 am. It presents an interesting challenge for me to get things right and I am so grateful for everyone patience with me. Last year our business organization the Bensalem Business Directory had its January meeting with our Mayor as our guest speaker at the Bensalem Country Club. We... have been doing this with our Mayor every year since we started and love the response from our members and are so grateful to our Mayor for making time for us. Don’t think we will do one this year due to the COVID 19 that is making large gatherings so difficult. But just a reminder of who we are and what we do here is a short video from then. Times like this we stop and think of what we have become or could have. We think of all the amazing people in our life who helped us achieve what we have. As y...ou are sitting home waiting maybe you want to call that person who made a difference in your life and thank them? Or send them a email or text ask them how they are doing. We have a holiday Thanksgiving meant to thank each other. We really don’t need a holiday or a reason to thank someone. They will always be happy to hear from you. Just my thoughts as I reach out to people who have helped me in the past. Our organization is filled with amazing people who always help each other. This Friday we have Dr Sam Lee coming out to talk to us about what is going on with the Schools here in a Bensalem. I talked to Holly Family Univerity Dean Dr Barry Dickinson and he also said he will see if he can stop in to talk to us and tell us what the school is doing. Holly Ghost President Greg G said he wanted to make it but could not this week. But will look for a Friday he can. We try to stay connected not only to the businesses but to the schools in our community as they are also members and it all effects us. Good Morning Everyone, I hope everyone is well. I spoke to Bensalem School District Superintendent Dr. Sam Lee yesterday. Some of our members had questions concerning the Bensalem Schools and I thought Sam would be the right person to ask to come on Friday to tell us what is going on with the Bensalem Schools. So, this Friday at our Zoom meeting / Friday morning breakfast at the Golden Corral 1465 Street Rd we will have Dr Sam Lee tell us what will be changing at the schools.... We start at 7:30 am every Friday morning and meeting officially starts at 8 am and we wrap up at 9 am normally. We also have the information on our web site. All proceeds from this go to our local food drive at PCC. You do not have to hike to donate to them if you like. We as a group are here for each other. We try to help each other in any way we can. If the local food bank is running low, we will try to figure out something to help them out. If you have questions about schools, we will get the top person in the school system to come talk to us. We try to step up to whatever is needed to help others and that is what makes us who we are. This upcoming election will be unlike any other in history, and Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub encourages all residents to go out and vote, wheth...er by mail or in-person. He assures all voters that his office will not tolerate voter suppression, intimidation or fraud as they practice their right to vote. Earlier this month, the county released a video where County Commissioner Bob Harvie explains mail-in and absentee ballot voting for the Nov. 3 election. In the video, Commissioner Harvie gives a step-by-step guide on properly filling out a ballot and mailing it back (for free) or dropping it off in one of the county's three official ballot drop boxes. PennDOT approved Bensalem Business Directory sign went up this morning. Notice the metal reflector white tag under sign. This establishes our sign as a legal sign in the eyes PennDOT. Thank you, Golden Corral, Bensalem Township and PennDOT for allowing us to put up our sign again. Now that we know how to put up signs that everyone is satisfied are done right we will Be looking at placing more of them up.

Every Friday morning we have been meeting at the Bensalem Golden Corral on Street Rd. for the last 3 years. We have had at times so many members attend that 2 servers were needed to serve us. We have had everyone from our Mayor or our Superintendent just stop in to have breakfast with us and tell us what is going on. We now have a Zoom meeting at the same time so people can log in if they cannot come out in person.
