Anyone else think it's a good idea to postpone the collection of special assessments, maybe even monthly dues, so people have a breather?

Got an extra $10k to $12k laying around? Don't know what to do with it? Your highly (in)capable board would love to take them off your hand. In case you did not receive a letter, the same board members, that don't live in the building, that don't have any open forums for the community to discuss what is going on in the building, decided to put a special assessment in place because they went through all of our money and reserves. (Per their letter). Another $1,000,000 to be s...quandered. Forget about upgrades and improvements to the building. They also will be cutting services such as front desk and will increase homeowner dues shortly. (Per their letter) #PayingMoreGettingLess Good job to everybody that didn't bother getting involved up until now. Maybe it's time to speak up? Now! Otherwise make sure your checks don't bounce because the board will try to foreclose on your unit otherwise (per their letter).

Some of you might have seen the self-serving email from the board. Fascinating and scary to see a group that is out of touch, which does not live in the building, try to make decisions with our money and burden us with more debt. Unfortunately the low property values are the direct result of their mishandling of our funds and our building. Unsightly hallways, trash chute issues, bombed-out looking lobby, no gym, unmaintained trashed elevators, neglected facilities. These are ...just some of the reasons why property values are down and the sense of community is non-existent. IF the "board" lived in the building, they would know this. OR maybe they do... which is why they don't live in the building. Either way, we cannot let them go through even more of our money if the result is the laughable result that is the lobby, just applied to the entire building. Enough is enough. A New board. an INTERESTED and COMPETENT board is needed ASAP. Read the posts from the past few years. All of this was predicted and all of this was avoidable. Enough.

With a lot of things in a state of disrepair and permanent "out of order" all around the building. Expect special assessments with the current board.
