Tonight at sundown, our Muslim neighbors enter into Ramadan, the holiest month of the year for Muslims. This month commemorating the revelation of the Qur’an is... a month of intense spiritual rejuvenation, devotion, and reflection. We wish all of our Muslim neighbors a generous and blessed Ramadan. ~A Prayer for Muhlenberg College Covid-19 Response: We give thanks for a campus community that responds to the inherent uncertainty of this time with words and acts of love, encouragement and appreciation; with caring for each other and for the wider world. We give thanks for the plan and preparation-makers: ... For faculty and staff and students working across offices and departments to get our campus and community ready for different possibilities and to make decisions about what comes next. We give thanks for Muhlenberg College alumni and friends who are at the forefront of a caring response to Covid-19: healthcare providers, social workers, public health workers, teachers, and so many more. We pray for all who are worried these days, on campus and otherwise: about work, school, health, travel and the logistics of daily life. God, grant you peace and give you help through the times ahead, whatever those times bring. We thank you, God, that in a time where we must practice some social distancing to better care for each other, you are never distant: you are with each person, and with every part of creation, no matter what. In prayer we are indelibly connected, and together we say: Amen.
