Shown is a Chanukah celebration held in a Ugandan synagogue built with Beth El's help a few years ago. This congregational initiative was led by Men's Club. Our support for Abayudaya, a Jewish community in eastern Uganda, continues to bear fruit. On January 18, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Beth El Congregation of the South Hills will welcome guest Shoshana Nambi, Ugandan Rabbinical student from Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion, for a special MLK Edition of First Mondays with Rabbi Alex Greenbaum. This event is co-sponsored by the Congregation's Anti-Racism Committee and Men's Club.
