A couple new items coming in with an expected delivery date of Christmas Eve! This first item is something quite unique and special as there are only a limited number of them available. G. Henle Verlag, the German music publisher (along with other music publishers) used to engrave metal plates with music to be able to mass-print various works. They used this method up until the 1990's. The music was engraved by highly skilled artisans by hand (in reverse) onto metal plate...s made of a mixture of zinc, antimony, and lead. Henle felt until the late 90's that music notation software was inferior to the nuances able to be produced with metal engraving. Now that music notation software has progressed, metal plates are no longer used. The artisans that knew how to do this are passing away and it is truly becoming a lost art. We've ordered ONE of these metal plates (framed with alder wood) that makes a lovely, historical, and unique gift.
