Candy Cane Day 2020 !!

Today, Brookhaven Fire Company was invited by the Nether Township Companies, along with several local fire companies had the pleasure of spreading a little cheer to a local Nether Providence resident. Owen Cappella is a 14-year-old boy who lives with his family in Nether Providence. Owen was recently placed on hospice care in his home because of a neurodegenerative disease... Owen loves trucks and today he enjoyed a visit from more than 45 Firetrucks and police cars from the surrounding area. A special thanks to A/C John Izak from the Nottingham Fire Department of Buck County for helping coordinate this special visit. Members of Company 52 attended the annual Trunk or Treat. Everything was a success, and we would like to thank the borough for setting it up! Happy Halloween Everyone!

Last night for our weekly drill, Members went over proper cribbing techniques for Vehicle rescue operations & as well as getting hands on experience with our Vehicle extrication tools.

We would like to thank Denise from PA Dept of Revenue for the pizzas.

Fire Company currently @ Coebourn Elementary for blended aka "Covid Fire Prevention" which we will do tomorrow as well. Working with Principle Ford we wanted to make sure the kids get some type of "normal" and not miss out on favorite part of school year. Teachers were giving links to our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuvI__3mQlLa8K_uLhirTtw to have the students watch Fire Safety Videos in classroom according to their grade. By all means we had to have the ...students enjoy the best part... see the fire trucks. Students get to view the trucks from the sidewalk. Covid guidelines were followed. We hope to be interacting with students in near future. Due to pandemic, our fire prevention materials and giveaways are limited. Quint 52, along with ladder 43 Holmes Fire Company Station 43 participated in a ladder detail while Springfield Fire Company lays down one of their own. Rest In Peace, we will take it from here.

The company also sent a few members to Aerial Operations at Station 50, through Bucks County Emergency Services Training Center. Members spent Saturday reviewing Aerial Operations in the classroom followed by the hands on practicals on Sunday. Members got a chance to work with honing their skills operating an Aerial device which will help with proper setup and quick deployment in the event of an emergency. Thanks to Middletown Fire Company and Rocky Run Fire Company for hosting the event.

A few members went over to Garden City and participated in Eckert Fire Tactics Sunday Funday class. Awesome class !! #ChooseInteriorAttack

Engine 52 w 5 stretched on a car fire yesterday afternoon

Rescue, Engine, Utility 52 and Ambulance52B along with Crozer Ems are currently at the intersection of Edgmont ave. & Whiteley Rd. On a two vehicle accident. Crews will be clearing the scene shortly.

Rescue 52 and Ambulance 52B just cleared this two vehicle accident in front of the Brookhaven Auto Wash.

The officers and members extend our deepest condolences to FF Byrne’s family and friends.

Members are involved in Water Rescue Opts certification class, tonight. This is the 4th class done by Elder. Thank you to Elder and also LA Fitness for allowing us to use the pool.
