Do you struggle with anxiety? Fear? Do you know someone who does and would like to help them? Are you a Pastor or lay leader that would like to help the anxious... people in your church? Shepherd's Fold Counseling Ministry would like to invite you to join us November 6, 2021 at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church for a workshop on Anxiety and Fear. Over 40 million people struggle with anxiety in the US alone. Fear is a wide-ranging issue that affects every area of life, and the Church is not immune to it. But what exactly is anxiety? How do we address it? During this workshop, we'll look at how the Bible defines anxiety and the answers it prescribes for it. If you've ever struggled with anxiety or know someone who has, this will be an invaluable tool for you! The cost for this event is $15. Nov. 6 from 9am-1pm in the lower fellowship hall at emmanuel bible fellowship church, sunbury. to register, visit tinyurl.com/workshoponfear

Our history would not show that we were big into racial diversity but that does not mean a pattern of exclusion. The Southern Lighthouse Singers were often at our camp meeting, Mizpah Grove, in the 1930s and were given prominent place. One large group picture of Mizpah shows the quartette sitting in the front row for all to see. No race reluctance there. They traveled the country providing music for various evangelists at their meetings. #bfcbeginning #BlackHistoryMonth

Horace Kauffman was a casualty. He served the Spring City and Royersford churches in 1918. A great pandemic hit America that year. Men were returning to their home towns from their service in World War 1. Celebrations were held which helped to spread the virus. Churches were closed. Even the Annual Conference that year was postponed. Pastor Kauffman was determined to pastor his flocks who had to deal with the fears in such times and the loss of their loved ones. He was warned about the dangers but he was determined to visit and provide spiritual care for those in the congregations he served. The warnings turned true in his case. In October, 1918, his dedication cost his life as he succumbed to the effects of the virus. #bfcbeginning

Before Barnum and Bailey had their big tent, Lehigh Valley’s Jonas Schultz had his big tent evangelistic meetings. In 1858, He traveled from town to town sharing the gospel. He wanted to take church to the people since there were people that would never set foot in a church. Jonas Schultz was close with some of the founders of the BFC and some may have even trusted the Lord as Savior because of the ministry of the Big Tent. At the end of October, Pastor Bob Gearhart gave a presentation on the Big Tent and on Christian Clemmer who was instrumental in the beginning of the BFC.
