And for the first time since 1988, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the world champions!! The bullpens were the key. The Dodgers with 7.1 shutout innings. The Rays pen, allowing a lead to slip away. Many fans (especially traditionalists) questioning why Snell was pulled so early. But it seems like it's the way of the baseball world right now to use 5-6 pitchers in a 9-inning game, and Tampa has used that formula to get to this point, but it wound up biting them. Mookie came throug...h with a big double in the 6th, scored the go ahead run on a sac fly, then added an insurance run with a solo shot in the 8th. Now we're all back to 0-0. I'm hopeful that 2021 will be a return to normalcy in that spring training starts in February, games that count start as the current schedule says it will, and that we see a full 162 games, and are able to be at the ballpark for them. There are some doubts about that happening, but a lot will happen between now and February. I'll chime in if there are any big signings, and if there will be a Piratesfest before the next season. We can always hope for the best. Congrats again to the Dodgers. LET'S GO BUCS!! See more

Well, the Dodgers are now just 1 win away. They got off to a fast start on Tyler scoring 2 in the first. Then getting 2 more runs with long solo shots from Pederson and Muncy. Tampa got to within 1 with 2 in the 3rd, and nearly tied the game on a bold move by Margot trying to steal home a la Jackie Robinson in 1955. Barnes got the tag down just in the nick of time (which Yogi thought he did back then, and was pretty fired up when the safe call was made then) and the Rays had their chances in the late innings, but the triumvirate of May, Gonzalez, and Blake Treinen got the outs needed to make a winner of Kershaw! So come Tuesday, it'll be a historic night one way or another! I look forward to seeing how it'll play out!

What a finish! Brett Phillips with the biggest hit in Rays history, and Arozarena making the bold move to head to the plate, and would have been out by a mile, but Smith mishandled the relay throw and now it's a best of 3 for the 2020 championship! This game was a wild one with many momentum swings, and it was wild how the Dodgers made "2-out lightning" into an art form tonight with the way they scored their runs tonight. It'll be hard to top tonight's excitement, but the Rays and Dodgers will give it a shot tomorrow!

Well Justin Turner got the Dodgers going from the get go with a first inning homer, and when Muncy hit that 2 run, 2 out single in the 3rd, it was an indication that it would be the Dodgers night, especially with the way Buehler threw. 6 innings, 10 K's and only one run surrendered. Dodgers win 6-2, and get one game closer to that first Championship since 1988. One thing Tampa Bay has shown though is resilience, and they'll need to show that tomorrow.

Oh boy, it's rough that the games go to nearly midnight when they start at 8. Tampa Bay with a good response as Brandon Lowe got the scoring started right away with a longball in the first. Then getting another one in the 5th to give the Rays a 5-0 lead. But the Dodgers chase Snell in the bottom half of the inning, and while they had the potential tying run come up in the 8th, the Rays bullpen got the job done, and the series is even. Game 3 on Friday!
