Bigdady Rods

Hi, I met you at that outdoor sports show in Philadelphia last Winter, where I was doing fly casting demonstrations. At the end of the show I bought a 3 piece 7... ft. MH baitcasting rod (made on a Rainshadow blank) from you. Anyway, I caught a lot of fish on it this season, but I wanted you to see a photo of the biggest one I've gotten on that rod. I got it two weeks ago off Block Island, Rhode Island on a 1 1/2 oz. white bucktail jig with 6 inch white curlytail using 20 lb. braid in 45 ft. of water. It gave a tremendous fight and took way over 100 yards of line on the first run. At one point I was looking at a fast emptying spool thinking, "I hope I have enough line!" Obviously I did, and all I can say is I'm thrilled with the catch! It was 50 plus pounds, maybe 60, and quickly released, which you have to with bass over 35 inches nowadays anyway. This is the PERFECT example of why you should buy custom rods instead of going to the big box stores and buy off the shelf. This rod is made by a large company,...as you can plainly see. Industry news will tell you that this company makes between 160,000 and 170,000 rods a year. Now, this rod is in for repairs for a new guide next to the tip top. I noticed something strange. The rod is over 7 feet inlength and it had 6 guides and a tip. Thats it!!! Why? Well if the company can save on 1 guide for every rod made and that guide costs them 50 cents......Thats a savings of $80,000.00 plus, a year!! That has a long distance between each guide and this rod should have another or even two more guides in the guide train. And I like St.Croix! A better guide train would make this rod cast smoother and farther,guaranteed. See more

Here at Bigdady Rods, we love to put smiles on our customer''s face. Some of you might recognize Jaden from North Schuylkill football. Little did we know he's a big outdoorsman and loves to fish.
