During the past year when so many places were closed many of you discovered what we knew all along, that our trail is valuable community resource. During the challenges of the past year it was a refuge from the reality of what was going on in the real world. We hope that in the year ahead you continue to use and enjoy the trail as it provides a safe place to walk, run, or ride your bike. We would also like to take this time thank all those who supported the trail through your membership, donations,by volunteering, or sponsorship. A special thanks to the Over the Hill Gang, our board members and our officers. From all of us at WYTC: Have a Happy,Healthy 2021.

Cold weather is not stopping the Over the Hill Gang! Tim Aaron and Jim Logan working near GAP MP 116 yesterday.
Perfect Fall weather, scenic views on a well-maintained trail. Sounds like we have a great week ahead of us. #westmorelandyoughtrail #greatalleghenypassage #wytc #westnewton
Someone is feeling the Christmas spirit.
Our wonderful Over the Hill Gang lent a hand with the Yough River clean up. up.
You may not find a better day to enjoy the trail till next year. So get out and enjoy it while you can. #westmorelandyoughtrail #greatalleghenypassage #smithton
The hike-bike camp sites in Cedar Creek Park are eerily silent after the first snow fall. Both the park and the camp sites saw record breaking use this year.
What better way to enjoy a winter wonderland than a walk along the trail. It is always open.
Please consider to give back to the trails that have given you a place to walk, bike, run and be in nature this year. If you can please donate or become a member today. Go to bikewytc.org to help out. Bikewytc.org/donate Bikewytc.org/join-us-1... Thank you.

We met a mother and her 3-year old on the trail this week, they called these leaves "Butterscotch leaves'. They do have that beautiful golden color. This weekend should be peak color on the trail, we hope you have the opportunity to get out and enjoy the colors before they are gone. #greatalleghenypassage #wytc #cedarcreekcountypark #westmorelandyoughtrail
These colors will not last forever so you better run down to the trail before they are gone.
What better way to spend some quality time together than enjoying a perfect fall day on the #GreatAlleghenyPassage. #cedarcreekcountypark #westmorelandyoughtrail #WYTC
Hello WYTC Members, What a beautiful time of year to enjoy the trail. The trees are a vivid color and the temperature is super for walking or biking. ... Our meeting this month will be on October 19th, Monday. The meeting will be held at the West Newton Station Conference Room. The time will be 7PM as voted on at the last meeting. Masks are required and please follow social distancing. The Over the Hill Gang is looking for volunteers. If you have some free time and would like to help out with maintenance of the trail, come on down to the Maintenance building at 9AM on Wednesdays. The building is a short distance down the road from the West Newton Station. The only requirement is to be an up to date WYTC member. If you cannot make a Wednesday, respond to this email ([email protected]). You can volunteer on your own time. WYTC continues to work on selling items to fund trail upkeep. Stop in the West Newton station and check us out. We have wicking neon green and orange tee shirts both men’s and ladies. There is beautiful jewelry and key chains created by our member Karen Craig. The key chains are a new addition and are stainless steel. Both the jewelry and key chains have a trail motif. The train key chain is a looker. It is very detailed. There are keychains with bikes and shoes for the walkers. We also have small wallets to take while biking or walking. They have two sections and 2 clips for keys and to add to a bike or pant loop. Of course, there is a nice selection of GAP merchandise at the station as well. Christmas is coming! What a great gift to those folks who have really enjoyed the trail this year. Hope to see you on the 19th Connie Petras Membership Chair WYTC
