If you train in one plane at a time, you might be dehydrated... If you constantly stretch your muscles because they feel tight, you might be dehydrated... If you can’t drink a gallon of water a day without going to the bathroom every 5 minutes, you might be dehydrated...... If you don’t train in relation to the gait cycle, chances are you are dehydrated... Your body loses water volume as you age, you are literally dying of slow dehydration. Maybe training in a way that prevents this makes you age slower? Just a thought. See more

Here's a short video showing the biggest mistakes we make training our shoulders with traditional training and rehab. https://youtu.be/-MY05ya7hE8

So long as you can move a little we make you move better. GAINS from HBS @fp_shane out @fp_brisbane. . Nov 2019 > Apr 2020 . Rebecca came to @fp_brisbane with a... laundry list of past injuries, including 7 right knee surgeries (inc ACL, bone on bone now), left shoulder + bicep tendon reconstruction, fractured left elbow, Spondylolisthesis L4-5, upper back disc issues, plantar fascia ruptures of both feet, she’s also had two kids via emergency C-section. She couldn’t run at all without debilitating foot pain during and after and her left lower back would flare up too. It’s fair to say she’s been through the meat grinder. She’s tough, that’s for sure but it’s a testament to the resiliency of the human body to take such a beating and still somewhat function. This is what happens when someone wants to fix their shit, a higher quality of life follows. At 43 years of age running again for the first time since she was 20, thanks to @functionalpatterns It’s never too late to improve the condition you’re in. Bravo Rebecca, bloody bravo . Client testimonial: I was introduced to FP by an Ex. Phys friend with an open mind. I have always followed traditional approaches to my training and movement patterns. My injury management has also been status quo. I’ve had approx 20 FP sessions with Shane which has been a combination of release work and movement pattern training. I have not run for over 21 years and was forced to retire due to major ruptures of my plantar fascia in both feet. Two surgeons wouldn’t operate on me and one gave me a 5% chance of recovery post surgery. I recall the Morning I woke after training and couldn’t walk to the toilet due to the pain in my feet. I was prescribed orthotics to manage my foot pain. I am far from achieving my goals, but I have been able to return to short interval running/walking sessions a few times per week, and feel more connected when I move. I am not using my orthotics anymore. I’ve also seen a decrease in lower back pain when doing my other activities. I ride a bike because I couldn’t run so It’s nice to think I can incorporate running into my lifestyle going forward. Cheers . #fpisthestandard #functionalpatterns See more
