Climbing in the Bird-Tower Environment The most common birds that nest on towers are ospreys and eagles and nests are under the protection of The Migratory Bird Treaty Act. To minimize the chances of violation of MBTA and danger from birds, climbers should keep in mind several things while visiting a site the first time. Visit sites in the early mornings. Climbers' presence will scare away the mother and if she leaves the nest, it will expose her offsprings to the hot we...ather during the day. Avoid work during rain. For the same reason of mother leaving the nest, it's not recommended to work during rain or below-average temperatures. Everyone will be safe if the mother will stay to protect her nest during vulnerable times of the day. Consult with the tower's environmental team. They will help to determine the status of the nest if it's active or not. One bird can potentially terminate the project and what's more important it can attack the human.
