Our board member shout-out this week is Lisa Merschiltz. Lisa is a former secondary education teacher, mom, and grandparent, whose career has positively impacted hundreds of local students. WISE Women of Blair County is pleased to announce the scholarship winners for the Fall 2020 term. These scholarships are available to women residents of Blair County 21 years of age and older who have overcome adversity or discrimination in their lives and are pursuing post-secondary education. A total of $10,000.00 was awarded to the following two women: Alicia Williams, who is a student in the Bachelor degree program for Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State ...University-Altoona, and Vanessa Ponder, who is a student at Juniata College in the Bachelor degree program for Education.
