There is new caselaw regarding collection letters. If the statute of limitations applies to your debt and therefore you no longer are legally required to pay the debt, then any collection letter(s) regarding that debt has to indicate that the bill collector cannot enforce this debt or that there is no legal obligation on your part to pay the debt. There are legal cases that state a bill collector has to say "this is an attempt to collect a debt" when leaving a voicemail message. If you received a voicemail message from a collector and the collector failed to state that "this is an attempt to collect a debt" save the message and call me NOW! Attorney Weiss
