Greetings fellow meditators, I would like to start by thanking everyone who has attended our virtual meditation and discussion the past two weeks. Personally, I have found it very beneficial to hear others share their views, experiences, struggles and suggestions related to the weekly topics and hope you have too. Koelle and I hope that you will join us this Sunday, February 7th, at 9 a.m. as we focus on spirituality. As many of us who meditate have discovered, the plenti...ful and often negative flow of energetic thoughts and feelings that move through us each (and sometimes seemingly every moment of the) day can easily pull us towards fear, selfishness, mistrust and cynicism. If nothing else, we hope that the regular practice of mindfulness will help us become aware of these patterns. But is the awareness itself enough? Chapter 4 of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, which is often considered one of the most spiritual books ever written, is entitled We Agnostics. In this chapter they pose the question, Do you believe, or are you willing to believe, in a power greater than yourself? From this simple question can come the foundation for a spiritual life, the book suggests. As you ponder our topic for the week, I will pose a few questions to hopefully serve as a bit of a guide: Do you have a spiritual life and is meditation a part of this? If so, how? What was your spiritual life like prior to meditating? Has meditation enhanced, evolved or brought value to your spiritual practice(s)? Has meditation challenged or changed your spiritual beliefs? We are looking forward to providing a safe and accepting space for all of us to learn, grow and understand as we touch on this valuable topic! Attached below is the meditation we will be utilizing, hope you enjoy. Namaste, Tony https://insig.ht/MUwM4E4SEdb

Good morning, Bloom Community! One of the most common misconceptions about meditation is that it requires the ability to empty our minds of thoughts. Quite simply, the brain is made to think, and that is what it’s going to do. Even the most practiced meditators experience thoughts during meditation. There is nothing wrong with thinking. Thoughts keep us alive, safe and functioning in society. Meditation does not seek to erase thoughts, but rather teaches us skills which shift...Continue reading

Peace & Light in the New Year - https://mailchi.mp/8ba6290ecc5a/peaceandlightinthenewyear
Good morning, Bloom Community! For those of you who celebrated, I hope you found joy in Christmas, even if it looked quite different this year. This year’s tempest of events and emotions has left many of us feeling eager to send 2020 off with an expletive-laden good riddance. For the most part, I share this sentiment. 2020 certainly hasn’t been my favorite trip around the sun. But, more than once this year, I have also felt deep, sincere gratitude for the amazing opportuniti...Continue reading

Good morning, Bloom Community! We come into the world with an exhalation, to clear and empty us, so that we can receive. We never take a breath. We receive a breath. ~ Alice Burmeister from The Touch of Healing I love this perspective of receiving breath instead of taking. It’s a beautiful reminder to treat each breath as unique and precious, to allow it to anchor us into our bodies, and into gratitude for the gifts that each breath brings. Each day, countless times... over, without a thought, we receive something absolutely sacred: this breath. Today, may you be well. May you be at ease, and may you find grace and renewal in each breath. Until next week, Namaste, Koelle https://insighttimer.com//guided-med/a-breath-of-gratitude
Throughout COVID, I have been praying and learning how to love others and navigate responsibly in the present as a person and business owner. And the beauty of it is....That’s what Bloom students and friends have been doing too!!! You’re All Blessings . Since we are not a gym or fitness center, we will have our last 10 classes of 2020 this week with 10 or less folks per class with social distancing and thorough cleaning as usual. Circumstances permitting, we will be toge...ther again In-Person beginning Sunday, January 3. And I can’t believe I’m saying...Fortunately we can be together virtually, if not physically. It’s been a huge leap of acceptance for many of us, including me. I deeply appreciate all your prayers, kindnesses and financial support throughout the whole year, both personally and professionally. Being a Village takes commitment, sacrifice and grace; and that is why Bloom Yoga & Wellness’s Garden is still Blooming: Peace, Kindness, Healing & FUN! Grateful for You All Jai Bhagwan aka Namaste , Sharon
Good morning, Bloom Community! Yoga Nidra is a deeply relaxing form of meditation that brings expansiveness to our awareness. Yoga Nidra is often referred to as yogic sleep because of the powerful restoration that comes from this type of alert relaxation. In fact, 45 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equal to 3 hours of normal sleep! If that isn’t reason enough to try it, there’s more! When we practice Yoga Nidra, we reset the neural pathways to each area of our bodies. This calms th...e nervous system, can decrease anxiety, and affords us a deeper sense of connection to our bodies. It is quite literally a journey within and around ourselves. Yoga Nidra has long been one of my favorite forms of meditation. It’s simple, requires no practiced skill, no props, and no striving. It’s impossible to do it wrong! Once you have listened to a few guided Yoga Nidra meditations, you will quickly be able to guide yourself through the process any time, anywhere. For me, that is where the true power of meditation lies. What we discover on the cushion is amazing, but what we take with us and utilize off the cushion is the real gift of the practice. Today, may you be relaxed and aware, and may your journey inward unveil the tranquil essence of yourself. Until next week, Namaste, Koelle https://insighttimer.com//guided/yoga-nidra-freedom-nature
