We are getting SO close to finalizing therapy at the new studio. Mindful Moments Pediatric Therapy & Wellness Center, LLC. 2449 State Route 118 suite 2, Hunlock Creek, PA. If you are interested in eligibility of occupational therapy services (in person and virtual) for your child, please send over your email through phone or messenger. I will send over intake and insurance paperwork (for those applicable) and or private pay intake documents. We are just waiting to hear back from a few insurances! The therapy studio will be 1 on 1- with an ozone sanitization filtration system running 30 minutes between each session. PPE will be worn by therapist and children who will tolerate it. We had some visitors during a hearing evaluation yesterday. Can you see them? There are 2 fawns, the one on the right just stood there staring at us for a few minutes, the other went on eating without a care in the world. Why do I share this on here? Isn’t this page supposed to be all about hearing. Yes it is, but this distraction came at the perfect time. I was performing a hearing aid evaluation on a new patient. This patient has had an untreated hearing loss for many year...s. A hearing loss that was so similar to my own that I know exactly what her world sounds like without hearing aids and I don’t know how she has gone so long without treating it. I put hearing aids on her ears as soon as I finished the hearing test, just so she’d be able to easily hear the results of the test. And she was amazed at how good she could hear. She was excited. Then it came time for her to practice putting the hearing aids on her ears herself. She instantly became frustrated and made the comment that she’d never be able to do it. She had tried something new exactly one time and wanted to give up. Then he daughter looked out the window and saw these adorable little fawns and we all relaxed and enjoyed the beauty of life for a moment. When we brought our attention back to the hearing aids, I said to her, of course you didn’t do it perfectly, it was the first time you’ve ever put a hearing aid in your ear. Does anyone do anything perfectly the first time? No. It takes practice, now let’s try again. And the second time she did it much easier and almost perfectly. This is my goal in my practice, to make people feel comfortable treating their hearing loss and make it feel doable, because it can be. Thank you deer for the adorable distraction.
