Boggle Beans Rattery

Announcement: this information will be disappointing to those who were excited to adopt from the current litter, but it is I feel the best thing to do for now! If you aren’t in the rat breeding world, you may not be aware but there has been an outbreak of Rat Bite Fever as well as Sendai in breeders along the east coast. Our rattery has been a closed rattery since April of 2020, and none of our rats have shown any signs of illness and none of our adopters have reported any ...sort of illness in themselves or in their rats. We have not had contact with any other breeders or any new rats since that time. This may be in an abundance of caution, but I still prefer to be overly cautious than risk even a tiny chance of spreading something that could harm anyone’s beloved pets. Boggle Beans Rattery will be closed until further notice! I know this is extremely disappointing, especially since Boggle Beans has not had a litter since December of last year due to moving and a lot going on in our personal lives! The current litter will remain here, and we hope to re open if we can sort out an affordable way to test such a small rattery or confirm that there was not even a small risk of being contaminated. Many other breeders in the area are doing something similar, even if the risk of possible exposure was low and a very long time ago, and we are going to follow suit to air on the side of caution. I hope you all understand, we appreciate each and every one of you and I have personally enjoyed the constant updates and photos of our past adopted babies enjoying their lives!

Boggle Beans Rattery is hopefully expecting its first litter since going on hiatus within the next few weeks! Michael and Tracy below will be the proud parents! We’re all moved and settled into our new home, and excited for the next chapter of our little rattery! A few reminders: ... BBR has moved to Millersville Pa. adopters will be meeting for their new babies in Millersville. In addition, only approved adopters can reserve pups- and pups will be posted and reserved on a first come first serve basis, again only for adopters who have already passed the application process. There is no way to guarantee how many and of which gender pups will be born or available after hold backs have been selected, and pups are posted as available between 6-8 weeks of age.
