Another round of #SundayNightSelfCare! What's your favorite way to wind down and get ready for the week ahead?
October is National Book Month! (Did you think we'd forget?) What stories are you reading to celebrate?
The Saturday morning spread *always* includes books!
We thought it was time to show our faces a bit more...so hello! Anna and Nancy here the founders of Bookclubz! More often than not, we're the ones responding to your emails and making sure things are running smoothly so your book clubs can keep reading and meeting! Like many of you, we've been doing all of these things (and more!) virtually for more than 8 months, and it's made us think about our health in ways we haven't really had to before.... Everything from who we see, where we work, how we shop, and what we need to restore and take care of ourselves has absolutely changed. As women, we hear about #selfcare all the time, but this year we really had to take a hard look at our own habits and ask, "Are we really investing in our health in a way that will keep us going strong through challenging times?" We're excited to join Rebelle Con (@rebellecon) in the coming days to talk about just this...and we want you to be a part of this conversation! Starting this weekend (October 25-27), #RebelleConVirtual is taking place virtually and bringing together leaders to talk about all the things related to #WomensHealth. This event is free for Rebelle Community members! To access the event, join online at www.RebelleCon.com. See more
Six Men. Three Decades. One Woman. Our October #Romance and #Poetry selection is Love from the Vortex & Other Poems poet and scholar-activist Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz’s first full-length collection. An archeological exploration on love and intimacy, the book charts her journey of finding and losing love over the span of three decades with six different men who came into her life at various times, but also offers a universal take on what can happen when one seeks love and co...nnection with others, and the lessons that follow when that connection and love is lost. Revealing moments of happiness, fantasy, frustration, and eventually dealing with the dissolution of relationships, the book moves beyond these anticipated stages to moments of grace and beauty that come with the discovery and practice of self love, and a fuller understanding of what it means to truly love someone as your love yourself. Personally torn between "once is never enough" for some titles and "so many books, so little time." Confess in the comments!

October's Book of the Month is an extraordinary narrative inspired by true events. 1938. Eli Stoff and his parents, Austrian Jews, escape to America just after Germany takes over their homeland. Within five years, Eli joins the US Army and, like all those who became known as Ritchie boys, he works undercover in Intelligence on the European front to help the Allies win World War II. In A Ritchie Boy by Linda Kass, different characters tell interrelated stories that, together,... form a cohesive narrative that follows Eli from Vienna to New York, from Ohio to Maryland, and then to war-torn Europe before he returns to the heartland of his new country to set down his roots. Set during the dawn of World War II and the disruptive decade to follow, A Ritchie Boy is the poignant, compelling tale of one young immigrant’s triumph over adversity. (Bonus: you can order this book from the author's own bookstore @gramercybooksbexley! )
