Support Local Restaurants: Dine Local Doylestown! Locally-owned restaurants line the streets of Doylestown and have long made our town a unique place to live, work, and visit. 2020 has been especially difficult for the restaurant industry. In Doylestown, we have so far been fortunate to see a low number of closures, but if we want that to continue our restaurants need our support now. Many local restaurants have expanded their takeout offerings and have dedicated curbside pic...kup parking available. Restaurants have also worked hard to expand outdoor dining and ensure a safe experience for their staff and customers. Please make an extra effort over the holidays and winter season to support our small businesses. Be sure to check with individual businesses about their specific policies, hours, and offerings. You'll find a convenient list of restaurants and their current offerings at this link:

Merry Christmas everyone!! Here we are. At the final tree of the tour. I saved the biggest and best for last. This beautiful "Let It Snow" tree is on display in... the largest room of the museum, used by Henry Mercer to host guests, not unlike he would have tonight for holiday celebrations. Enjoy numerous views of the tree and decor. I hope you've all enjoyed this journey through Fonthill with me this holiday season! Thank you all for your support and wonderful comments. . . Change your clock, change/test your smoke detector. Tonight is the night you change your clock, and along with that is our reminder to change/test your smoke d...etector. Smoke alarms save lives. Smoke alarms that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in reducing fire deaths and injuries. If there is a fire in your home, smoke spreads fast and you need smoke alarms to give you time to get out. Here's what you need to know! A closed door may slow the spread of smoke, heat and fire. Install smoke alarms in every sleeping room and outside each separate sleeping area. Install alarms on every level of the home. Smoke alarms should be interconnected. When one sounds, they all sound. Large homes may need extra smoke alarms. Test your smoke alarms at least once a month. Press the test button to be sure the alarm is working. Replace all smoke alarms in your home every 10 years. When a smoke alarm sounds, get outside and stay outside. When you change your clocks, we suggest that you either change the batteries in your smoke detector (if you don’t have 10-year batteries) or (if you do have 10-year batteries) test your smoke detector. Wireless interconnected detectors are highly recommended. It’s also a great time to practice a home fire drill. When you set off your smoke detector, have your family practice how to get out of your house. You can also try blocking the most obvious exit, so they have to think of a second way to get out. We also suggest that you have a meeting place outside, where everyone meets so you know they are all out. We suggest a stationary site like a tree, mailbox, fence, etc. Happy Halloween from everyone at Doylestown Fire Company No.1

Nearly 200,000 mail-in ballots have been mailed to Bucks residents since early October, with over two thirds returned to the Bucks County Board of Elections. As... soon as you receive your mail-in ballot, election officials strongly encourage you to drop it off at one of the official County drop boxes in Quakertown, Doylestown, or Levittown before 8 PM on Tuesday, November 3rd. Do NOT wait until right before 8 PM on Election Day to drop off your mail-in ballot at a drop box, as there may be lines to drop off ballots. At this point, mail-in ballots should not be sent back via the postal service. If you're a person with a disability and can't travel, fill out a designated agent form so someone else can drop off your ballot for you. The designated agent form can be found on our Election Portal, buckscounty.org/2020election, under the Mail-In Ballot section. It's critically important to seal your completed ballot inside the provided secrecy envelope, then place that inside the postage-paid return envelope, fill out and sign the declaration (signature, date, printed name, and address) on the outside. If you can't make it to one of the three drop box locations, you may also hand it to the poll workers at your polling place on Election Day and vote in-person instead. If you do not bring your ballot and envelope with you to your local polling place, you will be required to cast a provisional ballot to be approved at a later date by the Board of Elections. Find your local polling place at buckscounty.org/2020election, under the Polling Locations section. Drop box locations: The Upper Bucks Government Services Center 261 California Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 The Bucks County Administration Building 55 East Court Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 The Lower Bucks Government Services Center 7321 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19055 Drop box hours: Monday, October 26th to Tuesday, November 3rd (Extended Hours): 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, November 3rd (Election Day) To learn more about the 2020 election process, visit buckscounty.org/2020election.
