Hello! We hope everyone had a wonderful and save Fourth of July! We do not have any interruptions for service this week we just ask you bear with us. The landfill and transfer station was closed yesterday so the next day or so might be a bit slower than normal until they get back to the normal flow. That mixed with the over abundance of trash from holiday parties makes it’s a bit slow for our guys. We ask that you please have your trash curbside the night before to ensure ...pick up and everyone should be picked up on your normally scheduled day. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND! Just a friendly reminder to our awesome customers we will be operating our normal schedule next week. Good morning!- Our trucks are out in full force for trash AND recycling. They did not start until 8am which is several hours LATER than normal. That being said, please have your trash and recycling curb side so we can access it the best we can. A lot of roads are a pure sheet of ice and we are doing our best to get to everyone but our main concern is safety. All single stream recycling should be picked up today as long as it is accessible and curbside prior to 8am. If you hav...e not gotten picked up please call our office tomorrow so we can see what other options we can do. All trash customers will be picked up between today and tomorrow due to the ice and start time. We urge you to leave the trash on the curb where we can access it for pick up and we will get it picked up. Impending snow storm update: We currently plan on running our routes as best as we can for both trash and single stream recycling customers. They have been calling for snow the past 3-4 days and we have not seen much. That being said things can change at any point. We ask that you have your trash and or recycling out curbside the night before to ensure pick up and check back regularly for updates. If at any point it becomes unsafe or hazardous for our employees we will have t...hem come back and and we we will either attempt to pick up trash the following day or it may unfortunately have to wait until next week. We pride ourselves on our great customer service and professionalism.... We are in search of a class B truck driver to run our daily rural routes in Williamsport and surrounding areas. Our trash truck drivers are responsible for servicing residential and commercial accounts on a weekly basis. This physically strenuous position involves mounting and dismounting a heavy duty truck many times each day. In addition, this position involves lifting up to 50-75 pounds. Note: this physical effort may vary from site to site and in some cases may be greater or lesser than documented here. You also communicate professionally with customers and dispatch many times each day. Drivers must be able to read and understand a map, complete Bower Disposal customer route sheets as well as pre and post trip truck inspections. You will be working in all weather conditions but our trucks are equipped with A/C. THANKSGIVING SCHEDULE Our office will be closed this Thursday 11/26 for Thanksgiving. Thursday customers will be picked up on Friday 11/27 and Friday customers will be picked up on Saturday 11/28. There will be no change for single stream recycling pick up on Friday 11/27. Please have your trash and/or recycling out the night before to ensure pick up.... COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS UPDATE We want all of our customers here at Bower Disposal to know that we are taking this outbreak very seriously. We are working round the clock to ensure we can continue business as usual. As of right now we are aloud to stay open. We have closed our office to the public. If you need to reach out to us please do via phone, email, or Facebook.... The landfill/transfer stations are closed to the public but continue to stay open to registered haulers. The single stream recycling is close but we will continue to take recycling for as long as we can. We will update you as frequently as we can if there are any changes to our business or your service. We strongly urge you to take all precautions necessary to stay healthy. Regularly washing your hands and wiping down any and all surfaces. TRASH TRUCK LABORER WANTED FULL TIME! Bower disposal is a locally family owned establishment who has been operating for the past 20 years in the city of Williamsport. We pride ourselves on great customer service and professionalism.... We are in search of a full time trash truck laborer to work on daily rural routes in Williamsport and surrounding areas. As a trash truck laborer you are responsible for servicing residential and commercial accounts on a daily basis. This physically strenuously position involves mounting and dismounting a heavy duty truck many times each day. In addition, this position involves lifting up to 50-75lb. Note: this physical effort may vary from site to site and in some cases may be greater or lesser than documented here. You also communicate professionally with the driver and customers many times throughout the day. You must be able to learn and comprehend Bower Disposal pricing and reiterate it to the driver throughout the day. This job consists of working in all weather conditions. But if you like to work outside and be on the move this is a great job for you. Starting salary depends on experience. We will be accepting applications all this week.
