Sunday, March 21, 2021, another amazing opportunity to register folks for the COVID-19 Vaccine, and giving people access to free fruits, vegetables, meats, assorted bread and more. Offering warm regards for the vision and outstanding service The Easton COVID Vaccine Equity Project continues bring to the community offering individual help with registering for the vaccine every Wednesday between 10:00am and 2:00pm and on Sunday’s from 9:00 am until 11:00am. With the support of... seven (7) outstanding volunteers today’s registration for the COVID-19, Vaccine was successful in getting residents registered for the vaccine, the volunteers are: Cheryl Baker, Alexa Heryla, Olivia Heryla, Gianna Corda, Becky Gibson, Christina Ecchevaria, and Margie De Renzis Another salute goes to our volunteers who supported the Shoprite Bethlehem Partners In Caring Food Access Program today in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Club of Easton. The partnership takes place every Sunday Morning between 10:00am and 11:00am. Today’s volunteers for the food giveaway were, Coach Frankie West, Linda Mitchell, and Michelle McKessey. IronPigs Charities gives grant to the Boys & Girls Club of Easton Dean Young, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Easton, and Emily Bettys, Director of IronPigs Charities, met up on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Coca Cola Park Home of the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. The Boys & Girls Club of Easton was awarded a $3,500.00 grant supporting Triple Play Sports & Recreation activities. In accepting the grant, Young said, We are so grateful and honored to be selected as a... recipient of the IronPigs Charities Grant Program, which supports activities that keep young people engaged in positive programs away from the perils on the streets. The award provides access to Horseback Riding, Golf, Bowling, Skating, Basketball challenges, and other sports that keep kids fit with mind, body, and soul. The Club invites area youth to join the Triple Play Sports Youth Advisory Board where they will be empowered with decision making, planning, and implementing the use of the funds awarded by the IronPigs Charities grant. Members will decide the frequency of outings for golf, skating, bowling, and more based on the dollars in hand and the opportunities available at venues across the valley that offer the sports activities supported by the Iron Pigs Grant award. "This is a unique opportunity for kids to manage funds, assist with planning, implement activities, participate in fun programming, and offer feedback for reporting purposes." - Young added. Here's what's happening at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton (B&GCE) this week, Monday, January 11, 2021 - Friday, January 15, 2021: 1/13/21 @ 4pm: Virtual Pillowcase Presentation via Zoom for Grades 3-5 with Red Cross Cooking Classes: Making Breakfast Sandwiches 1/17/21: ShopRite Food Program (free foods)- doors open at 10:00am and close at 11:00am; pre-registration is required... All week: Academic enrichment with STEAM activities (check out the photos from last week with building blocks) All programs for academic enrichment and sports, fitness, and recreation resume for Grades K-5 from 3pm until 5:45pm and for Grades 6-12 from 6pm until 8:45pm. Registration for after-school programs is currently ongoing. Membership is required and costs $15 for a full school year (excludes summer months). Payment is accepted via cash or money order in exact change only. Community NEWS Offering Complementary Foods, Bottle Water, Fruits, Veggies and more! Sunday, January 10, 2021 10am until 11:00am at the BGCE... The Boys & Girls Club of Easton TEAMS UP with Shoprite Bethlehem to assure families have access to free foods, fruits, and vegetables on Sunday's. Sundays at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton offer more than a few hours of extra time - working in conjunction with the Shoprite Caring Partnership Program the Boys & Girls Club of Easton is offering free access to food every Sunday between 10:00am and 11:00 am. Dean Young, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Easton said, "The program is open to the general public however to maintain social distancing and to support COVID-19 precautionary protocols advance Registration is required." Boys & Girls Club of Easton is located at 210 Jones Houston Way in Southside where the free food access program is offered every Sunday, doors open at 10:00am and the food giveaway ends at 11:00am. Local Restaurant Business and Nonprofit hookup to provide meals to families throughout the valley. Kudos to the Bansal’s and Aman's Artisan Indian Cuisine Restaurant for making a major contribution consisting of free prepared meals for families, and keeping their tradition of giving going in 2021. The Bansal’s prepared 250 meals of which fifty-six (56) were provided to Dean Young, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Easton.... Young distributed the free meals consisting of a Lentil Vegetarian Dish with Desert, Bottle Water, and Vegetarian Spring-rolls, to families in Easton, Bethlehem, Allentown, and Bath PA. Young said, We are proud to be associated with businesses like Aman's Artisan Indian Cuisine Restaurant of Easton PA who are doing their part in keeping families and community food secure. In addition to delivering meals today, the Boys & Girls Club of Easton will host the Shoprite Caring Partners Program on Sunday Morning, January 3, 2021, at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton located at 210 Jones Houston Way in Southside. Parents and Remote Learning Evenings Come to the Boys & Girls Club of Easton! The Boys and Girls Club of Easton (B&GCE), located at 210 Jones Houston Way in Southside Easton, is offering forums for parent discussion groups to aid in the navigation of remote learning. Additionally, this is a time for parents/guardians to address questions and concerns that they have based on what they encountered while helping their children in the current academic environment. This event is o...pen to parents/guardians of B&GCE members in Grades K-12 that currently attend the after-school program. Topics of the forum include, but are not limited to the following agenda items: PowerSchool Google Classrooms Online Textbooks/Resources Submission of Student Work How to E-mail Teachers and Exploring Other Community Avenues Best Practices for Daily Zoom Attendance Best Practices for General Student Success in Remote and Hybrid Learning Parents and Remote Learning Evenings kick off with the first forum on Thursday, January 14th, 2021 at 6:30pm in the Club’s Multi-Purpose Room. Group sessions will continue every Thursday through January (1/21/21 & 1/28/21). After that, the sessions will move to once per month on the first Thursday of the month (2/4/21, 3/4/21, & 4/1/21). All meetings will have a prompt start time of 6:30pm. Pre-registration is highly recommended to manage social distancing practices and can be done by calling or texting (610) 703-8575. Worth mentioning - Kudos to Shoprite Bethlehem. During the week of December 7th, the Boys & Girls Club of Easton and Shoprite Bethlehem provided eighty (80) additional Turkeys to families in need. The Boys & Girls Club of Easton provided 42 turkeys to their club member families, delivered 2...0 turkeys to the Easton Neighborhood Center Food Pantry, and offered 18 turkeys to the Caring Place in Allentown. Tomorrow Sunday, December 13. 2020, The Partners In Caring - a community-based, hunger-fighting initiative Program established by Shoprite affords the Boys & Girls Club of Easton an opportunity to offer Shoprite Food Days at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton. The program happens every Sunday starting at 10am and ending at 11:am. Sunday’s At the Boys & Girls Club of Easton are synonymous with ShopRite Foods Day - it happens every Sunday at the Boys & Girls Club of Easton 210 Jones Houston Way in Southside. Doors at the club open this morning at 10:00am and close at 11:00 am. Social distancing is enforced and each individual entering the boys and girls clubs facility is required to wear a mask, temperatures are taken as you enter and as you exit the building, each person must also sign-in indicating... the time in the building and the departure times. An array of food are provided from vegetables to fruits, sandwiches, meats, pastries, dairy and other goodies intended to support families as part of the boys and girls clubs and ShopRite COVID-19 relief Program. The objective to keep families, friends and members food secured.
