Braddock Youth Project 11.12.2020

Shared by our partner, Meshwork Press. THIS is what the Media Team has been up to! We are so very proud. ........ We’ve been a little quiet about our fall programming with @wilkinsburgyp and @braddockyouthproject in the hustle and bustle of the last few weeks, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been hard at work creating! For our latest project, WYP/BYP youth artists have designed posters inspired by the artist Alisha Wormsley @alishabwormsley and her provocative project ‘There... Are Black People in the Future’. Each youth interpreted this phrase in their own unique way through digital designs and hand drawn imagery. These posters will be printed and distributed for free within our communities and are also published as issue #3 of our Creative Minds Zine. Link in bio! Check out the zine to see the full scale image created by each artist. Now onto the next exciting project. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon! P.S.- I am so impressed with these young people for continuing to make their art and for being willing to join another zoom session at the end of an already very tiring and very virtual school day! You are all AMAZING. -Ms. Haylee

Happy Halloween from BYP! Every year, BYP youth throw a big party for neighborhood children at the Nyia Page Community Center. This year, we cannot safely do this, but we still found ways to bring fun to the community. We had our Haunted Garden next to @forgoodpgh ‘s costume giveaway. We are dropping off goodie bags this morning to the homes of children, and some of our Gardening crew decorated @growpittsburgh ‘s Braddock Farms farmstand, which will be open today from 10-2. ... Have fun and stay safe today, all you ghouls and goblins!
