Bradford Woods Conservancy

Join us tomorrow for the Audubon’s Annual Bird Count For the 7th consecutive year, the Conservancy is organizing for the Audubon Society’s annual Christmas Bird Count on Sat., January 2, 2021. We’ll have a small team in the Bradford Woods Reserve at 10 a.m., looking, listening, and recording what we find. No birding experience is necessary to join us; the Conservancy’s Ray Morris, a certified Master Naturalist, will lead the group. ... In Bradford Woods, this effort will help us to document our long-term patterns in bird populations, which is directly related to the health of our woods, as well as track invasive birds. It's also a great excuse to get outside for a couple of hours, get a little closer to nature, and give back to the community by participating in the nation’s longest running Citizen Science event (this is Audubon's 121st year of organizing the event). If we have enough volunteers, we will split into two groups with another counting on Lake Loop Trail. Due to continuing concerns for COVID, we will have no more than five people in each group, we will keep a minimum of 6 feet distance, and masks will be required at all times. You can also contribute to this effort from the comfort of your own home just by watching your bird feeder and recording the birds that visit.
