Athletic Rec Center has been chosen to be part of phase two of the Access Center initiative. The Rec will operate as a digital learning space in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to the students who participate in the program. Priority will be given to parents working outside of the home with no childcare or internet. The students will adhere to their school schedule for the entirety of the day. If you know if of any ...families that can benefit from this program please share this information with them. The gardeners have been harvesting and procuring tons of food to distribute tomorrow morning beginning at 9am. Thanks to those in the community and from afar who have donated to make this possible. Get here early for all you see in the pictures plus and much much more!

This morning PHA officials backed by approx 25 armed PHA police officers descended on the North Philly Peace Park in a early morning raid under the pretext of "unlawful occupation" of the properties adjacent to the park. After being confronted by Peace Park staff and neighbors, the raiding party was forced to withdraw. The properties in dispute were former drug and prostitution dens, that were recently taken over by neighbors and recently repurposed by Peace Park workers as spaces for community healing and uplift.
