Dear Clients, Brookside values our partnership with you and the ability to help care for your residents. Due to the impending inclement weather predicted for tonight and throughout tomorrow, Brookside is respectfully requesting that you reschedule your labs for tomorrow, March 21, 2018 to Thursday, March 22, 2018. Based on the latest forecast, we expect Governor Wolf to declare a State of Emergency in Pennsylvania along with Governor Carney of Delaware and Governor Murphy of New Jersey to do the same. Once those declarations are made, our phlebotomists are not permitted to be on the roads. Thank you and we hope that you, your staff and your residents remain safe.

Since launching Brookside in 1966, we have been located in Brookhaven, PA. However the building we have worked in for the past thirty-seven years was recently sold and we opted to relocate. Support the OPPOSITION of the 2% cut to the lab fee schedule. This cut would pile on top of already deep cuts delivered by health reform, which will ultimately total to about 19% over 10 years. Instituting such cuts could be devastating to small independent laboratories like Brookside. Please help with this effort by contacting your state representatives (instruction provide in the link posted on 6/23). In 1987, the laboratory industry agreed to a fee schedule set by Congress/HHS/Medicare so that laboratories would not have to collect a co-pay. In 2003 and 2009, Congress tried to institute a co-pay for laboratories, but both times it was rejected. Congress is now revisiting the topic and laboratories must once again rally to defeat it.
