It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas Celebration Going On Now in Brookville During these challenging times with so many events cancelled, it hasn’t discouraged local Brookville businesses from creating, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas Celebration. Enjoy this exciting time starting on December 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and many businesses celebrating the entire month of December with fantastic savings in their stores. Many merchants will be dressed in nostalgic ...attire, as we move forward during this pandemic. Now is the time to support your local merchants during this holiday season, and not to shop at the big box stores or online. All of these businesses will have CDC guidelines in place, and they encourage you and your family to shop locally and save on all the unique gift items we have in our town. These businesses have supported your groups and organizations with donations for many years. It would almost be impossible to come up with a sum of dollars that these local businesses have given back. This is the time now to support them. Gift Certificates make an easy and fun gift for family and friends. Pick up a copy of the December issue of The Brookville Mirror to see who all is participating! See more

DuBois Central Catholic Temporarily Goes Remote DuBois Central Catholic will begin remote learning on Monday, November 23 through Friday, December 4. Gretchen Caruso, President of DCC stated, "Choosing to go to Remote Learning was a very difficult decision. I believe there is no substitute for in person instruction. That being said, I have a duty to keep my students, faculty, and staff safe. With the current COVID numbers rising daily and the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday, I... felt it was time to take a step back and remove the potential for an outbreak at DCC. I look forward to returning to in-person instruction when I feel the school atmosphere is safer for all. We do hope to return to school for in-person instruction on Monday, December 7. DCC students will continue the same schedule as if they were in school, beginning at 8AM. Students will be able to interact with the faculty until 2:45PM. Faculty will be available to answer emails and phone calls until 4PM each day. Per Carol Bernat, Elementary Principal and Karrie Miller, MS/HS Principal, "Our students practiced live instruction cyber days three times in the past month to prepare for remote instruction. During that time, we were able to correct a couple of minor issues. The students and staff are fully prepared for lessons to continue without missing a beat." See more
