Our co-worker Dan (Selkirk Terminal) and his family suffered a devastating loss a few days after giving birth to a baby boy over the weekend. There was a fire which severely damaged their home. Luckily they were able to get out without any injuries, but they were left with very little. We would like to help them start to get back on their feet, especially around the holiday season. As you all know these past ten days have been challenging and stressful times for everyone. We just want to remind everyone that we will get through this together, but we need to remain as calm as we can be. In today’s world, Information and misinformation travels faster than ever before so it is important that we maintain open lines of communication for everyone’s benefit. Several states have issued executive orders affecting normal business operations, some are more specif...ic than others, but in general, we (trucking) have been designated an essential business (ex. logistics, Trucking Specialized Freight, Fulfillment, etc.). So far all the states we operate in are allowing us to continue and we are working within their guideline in order to do so. Remember, all of us are responsible to focus on taking every precaution available to avoid the potential spread of the virus while at home, on the road, or at the office. Please follow the guidelines and maintain the proper social-distance, utilize proper hand washing techniques, at least 20 seconds with hot water, utilize Clorox wipes for wiping down door handles, faucets, and all other community items (Please utilize these to wipe down items after each use). Any suggestions you may have to improve cleanliness in the workplace are certainly welcomed. The trucking industry has always led the way in a time of crisis. So, we need to lead our communities now by focusing on our responsibilities, first and foremost, to protect and feed our families. Concentrate on safety, common sense hygiene, and making smart choices in fulfilling our job duties. Keep in mind, we, by contract, are obligated to deliver on our promise to our customers that we will support their supply chains. Brothers has not failed to support its customers and we don’t want us to fail now in a time of crisis. We will continue to operate within the rules and try to do our best to make sure everyone is safe in performing their jobs. Thank you everyone for your hard work we wish you and your family well.
