From the Office of the Mayor: Brownsville Borough Residents and Visitors please be aware of some traffic changes starting today due to a partial building collapse. All Downtown traffic will be rerouted using the Inner County Bridge and Lane Bane Bridge following Penndot’s posted signs. Local traffic will still be able to access the downtown area using Brown Street gravel lot, Shady Avenue, Charles Street/ Bridge and Bank Street. The downtown square is still open for parking a...t this time. Please allow time for traffic delays and heavier then normal traffic on these roads due to these detours. Thank you! Mayor Ross H. Swords, Jr.

We would like to invite everyone to the Brownsville Prayer Gathering for First Responders. We've had this service several times over the past few years and it's... always a very moving and joyous experience. Up until now, one of the biggest challenges facing the first responder community was the opioid epidemic. While that is still an ever-present problem, none of us expected the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, while we join together in prayer for all, we will ask for special blessings for our brothers and sisters in EMS, who have borne the brunt of the pandemic. They, along with everyone who works in healthcare, have gone way beyond the call of duty. This year, we will also honor the everyday men and women who, in the course of their regular jobs, became first responders themselves, by providing the goods and services that we all needed to survive. This includes retail, grocery, delivery, manufacturing, and a whole host of others. So we ask that you consider joining us, praying with us, and gathering (following CDC guidelines) as a community to beseech our Lord to end this difficult time in our history. We hope to see you there!

For nearly 60 years, both staff and visitors of Nemacolin Castle have reported many paranormal ex...periences throughout the dark halls, corridors, and rooms of this historic structure. Come and hear of these occurrences at Nemacolin Castle Candlelight Ghost Tours every weekend evening in October... The spirits eagerly await your visit. See more
