BFPL is currently Curbside services only. This means no one other than employees in the building, we will do all we can to help you. We can still fax, make copies, look up things, and pull books for you. We understand that while this seems frustrating it is for the safety of the community and staff. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Have you ever found a library book sitting around for who knows how long? Have you ever been cleaning out a closet and found a book that should have been returned 10 years ago? Thoughts of those mounting fines and a bit of embarrassment have been known to keep books out longer. Have no fear! We at the Brownsville Free Public Library are providing a program called Amnesty for All This program will be waiving all fines and fees for all library patrons. This program include...s charges for overdue, lost, or damaged items assessed prior to September 11, 2020. Our patrons are the reason that our library exists and we want to see you at the BFPL! You can drop the books in the blue bin located to the right of our main door. So if you have any overdue books or materials just bring them in or drop them in the bin. Your accounts will be updated when the materials are returned. If you lost an item or it is damaged, drop us a note in the box with your name and whether it is lost or damaged and we will update your account. This program will be offered until December 31, 2020.
