Before & After . . . Full head teased foils, NO HAIR LEFT OUT! Except what falls out from the backcombing (faded foiling), (20 vol with Olaplex), to get rid of as much brass as possible but keeping rooty dimension, I freaking love this method. Actually, I despise it and doing faded foils makes me wanna stab my eyeballs out, it takes forever and is a bitch to comb out and is probably not super healthy on the hair teasing it constantly but... the result is just GORGEOUS. I wo...uld not want to do that technique on the same client over and over but the first session as a corrective method I think removes as much warmth as possible and as much lightness as possible - yet it just leaves this natural dimension that is so pretty. It's up to you how much you tease or how little..more dimension or less but doing this will always leave a built-in lowlight so to speak, a dark veil.. . . Toner Smudge root- after rinsing and coming everything- SEQ @redken 6T/7N, painting it down where the demarcation area is (from foils not the before demarcation) slightly below that, for about 5/7 mins- rinse the smudge, applied 9p/9v/splash 9gi/tiny splash 6t, followed by @olaplex #2 for 8 mins. . I DO JUST AS MUCH WORK AT THE BOWL AS I DO BEHIND THE CHAIR it doesn't take quite as long but when I rinse foils I'm far from done . I ALWAYS USE MY CLIENTS NATURAL BASE. I do not attempt to change it. Ever. That is why I use demi for a smudge root. If I would have used a permanent color her virgin regrowth, she'd be way too warm so I take that back- if you have a client who wants warmth, by all means add permanent, or if they are going darker I may in the right situation but I never add a permanent color that is LIGHTER than the natural base! If I have a client with gray hair that wants to be blonde, I blend highlights to the root. If I have a darker client with some blonde highlights, I obviously use permanent on the gray root only. . . NOT EVERYONE CAN GO THIS LIGHT!! See more

Brassy to Beautiful . . Jacqueline's 1st session consisted of getting rid of all that warmth and keeping a shadowed root- I went in with an entire head of faded (backcombed) foils everywhere except the top/top sides, there I did traditional foils so she'd be a little brighter. . .... She has VERY resistant hair, I will start doing @malibucpro treatments on my clients or if they are out of town, I'll be recommending they find a salon in their area to do a Malibu treatment. I've had numerous clients with buildup/hardwater/ that interferes with lifting. Also, I've been telling my clients for months, invest in a shower head filter!! If your having issues with blonde turning brassy, this will help, it also helps the condition of the hair. Blondes will always go warmer, ash tones do not stay in the hair, ash/white requires a lot of upkeep/toning/blue-purple shampoos and if you leave any salon with white blonde, it will not stay white blonde without doing what your stylist said-- but adding crappy water will contribute to blondes being warmer and just dull.. . . I used 20vol with @olaplex and toned with @redken SEQ 9v/9p/9gi followed with @oligopro blue shampoo See more
