Check out the work Environmental Studies & Sciences affiliated faculty member Jeff Trop did with community group Merrill W. Linn Conservancy!
Any ENST grads interested in this position?
Toasting all the ENST seniors!!! Woo-hoo! You did it. A hearty congratulations to all of you!
Meet Anna Karnes! Environmental Studies graduating senior We promised we would post profiles of the Environmental Studies & Sciences seniors. We want you to know these great people and to link up with them if you have any work or graduate school advice or connections. Thanks for supporting our seniors! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Anna Karnes is a graduating candidate for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Philosophy... with a minor in Classics & Ancient Mediterranean Studies. Her experiences both in and beyond Bucknell have instilled in her a passion for environmental conservation, animal rights, and an ethical approach to how humans interact with and manage the habitats around us. Anna will be entering a 6 month agricultural position upon graduation working for a non-profit in Cincinnati, Ohio where she will be assisting with and learning from the agriculture, greenhouse, garden, and environmental education teams of the Greenacres Foundation. Next year, she hopes to find a longer term position that allows her to continue living out her motto to do good"! Outside of class, Anna spends her free time training her horse, Koda, in eventing. She also enjoys playing with her two cats, staying active boxing, and bottle-raising orphaned kittens - and more recently wild bunnies!
Normally at this point in the semester, we post all sorts of photos of our graduating seniors presenting their team work from ENST411 Environmental Community Projects. In this course, they partner with community organizations to do lots of cool work in our area. But in this most unusual semester, our Environmental Studies & Sciences majors had to adjust these hands-on projects in big ways. I've been so impressed with what they managed to do. Here's a photo of all the seniors in a zoom class with me (clearly I am not of the Instagram generation, ahem). I'll be posting some images from their work in the weeks to come, and will be posting stories about seniors who are looking for jobs and connections. They'd love your help in their job and graduate school searches!
Check out what our Environmental Studies and Sciences majors are doing in the spring 2020 senior culminating course, ENST411 Environmental Community Projects! Tatum Contreras, Camryn Goldstein, and Tierney Beauregard partnered with the Lewisburg Parent Student Association (PSA) to create this week of supplementary education materials to mark the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. The students planned to lead lessons in person at Kelly and Linntown, but with the Covid-19 cancellation of school, they amazingly shifted gears and turned their materials into online, accessible resources. Check out (and like!) their FB page where they will post links to videos, crafts, and experiments for each day's themes.
