Congratulations Elijah!!! First USTA tournamentfirst place at Lakevue CC! We are proud of you. Elijah started at the BVTA when he was 5 years old. He plays tennis, watches professional tennis, and can name more professional players than anyone I know. He practices weekly with his family. Oh, and he beats the instructors (including me) on many points. Great job! -Coach Duane

I was notififed this morning that per the guidelines placed by the state, Brady's Run will shut down from 12:00AM on December 12, 2020 until 8:00AM on January 4, 2021. This means that all clinics and lessons will be cancelled over the next 3 weeks. Although this is disappointing, I look forward to returning with a strong tennis year ahead. I appreciate working with all of the kids week-after-week. We have had a huge increase in tennis participation over the last few years and it is terrific to see so many kids active in our communities. I want to wish everyone a happy holiday season and we will return soon! -Coach Duane

These pictures showed up in my FB memories from 4 years ago...a mixed doubles tournament. These kids! Some have graduated, some are now instructors themselves, most drive to their lessons, and they are all great kids! I always like that they have friends from other school districts that they meet at the BVTA. -Coach Duane

One of the missions of the BVTA is to increase participation in high school tennis. This year I am enjoying seeing kids who grew up playing tennis at the BVTA compete against each other at opposing high schools and then walk off the court laughing and enjoying hanging out with each other. Sportsmanship has always been taught at the BVTA and these girls have shown that they have taken it to heart!

BVTA clinics will resume on Saturday, October 3. Bradys Run has been managing their reopening plans in accordance with COVID-19 protocols. We expect to start back with limited court time and a reduced number of kids per court compared to years past. We will start out by running weekly clinics opposed to 5 week sessions. Also, we'll need to rotate some kids out each week to accommodate as many kids as possible. A text was sent to parents of kids who attended clinics at the beg...inning of 2020. If anyone was missed and is interested, please txt Coach Duane at 412.607.3544. Please note, a distribution will be sent out via txt each week to confirm which kids can and are able to attend that week. This is all subject to change based off of COVID-19 rules. Please understand that we cannot accommodate all kids every week, but we will do our best to rotate all kids through the clinics. The BVTA is looking for space. If anyone knows of a gymnasium available for the fall starting in October, please let us know. Due to Covid19, the reopening of Brady's Run indoors is scheduled to have limited court availability by initially opening 2 courts instead of 4. Over the last few years, we have grown our programs to include 75-100 kids per week. With the indoor court limitations this fall, we would only be able to accommodate approximately 30 kids for Saturday clinics. We could use gym space for our 10 and under programs after school, evenings, or late Saturday afternoons.
