THIS IS HUGE ACCT is the ONLY open intake animal shelter in southeastern PA. This means they HAVE to take ANY animal that is brought in, regardless of space. ACCT gets a lot of heat for being a kill shelter, but they’re given no other options & residents of the city have nowhere to turn. A 92% save rate means the staff at ACCT are putting in some serious work as are residents of Philly & surrounding areas. ... If you ever wanted to save an animal & aren’t sure where to go, take a trip down to ACCT. you’ll be helping the animals there & definitely be taking some weight off of the staffs back that another animal has found it’s way out. Congrats to ACCT & the director, this is an amazing accomplishment!

PSA! Due to deteriorating weather conditions earlier, staff left the office abruptly at 4:15 this afternoon (& still took some of us 2+ hours to get home ).If you had left a message & were anticipating a call back please give us until Friday to get back to you. We do plan on being in the office tomorrow for calls & med pickups but with unknown weather conditions overnight it may take us a bit to get in. Please stay safe in this weather!
