Very grateful for the support of Glaziers Local 252 and their partners who came out Saturday at 6:30 AM to replace the windows on storefronts on the Broad, Germantown and Erie corridor. See the post below for more details. We appreciate the support of the 25th Police District as well.
Our Workforce Development Program is focusing on developing "career pathways" for those who live in our community. To that end our desire is to create a space called, "The Center for Arts and Digital Literacy". Today we are so proud to be able to put Desktop Computers into the possession of our "Cleaning Ambassadors" who keep our Business Corridor clean. Now we will be able to conduct "Virtual Learning" classes and increase their proficiency in computers and digital literacy.... Thanks goes out to the IT Department at Temple University and our partnerships with the "Temple/Lenfest North Philadelphia Workforce Initiative", The Commerce Department of the City of Philadelphia and the Center for Urban Bioethics at the Temple University Hospital. Please enjoy the pictures of our men below who received their Desktop Computers today. Thank you to all of our partners!! Called To Serve CDC!!!
This is huge! Given the current state of the schools, this will go a long way to ensuring our kids at least have access to the education they have the right to.
With movement restrictions in place, providing information about how to participate in government is a necessity for CTS. Check out our latest post.
Today we celebrated the life, legacy and impact of Rev. Dr. Leon Sullivan. Pictures to follow but some news is too good to keep. We hosted a job fair today and 30 people left with jobs!!!
THANK YOU to everyone who joined us to make the unveiling of Rev. Dr. Leon H. Sullivan Way a success. Your presence meant a lot.
100 CHICK-FIL-A SANDWICHES KENDERTON ELEMENTARY BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT Thursday, September 26, 2019 Mike, I would like to serve Chck-Fil-A sandwiches (this was before the Popeye’s sandwich debate) to my parents as a way of encouraging them to come out said Kenderton Elementary School Principal Deanna Bredell. Mission accomplished! When CTS Executive Director, Pastor Jeffrey Harley arrived at the school at 4:40 PM for the 5:00 PM Back To School Night Program (Thursday, September 26th), he reported that there were people lined up outside of the door! Principal Bredell had announced that the first 100 attendees would receive a Chick-Fil-A sandwich. When asked later on the evening if the idea worked, Principal Bredell said YES! The auditorium was packed.
